If you were looking at an upright seating position bike other than the FZ6, FZ1 or FJR1300 what would you consider???

Thanks for your thoughts....

I am looking for something quick and comfortable for long rides...

I put 1.25" risers on my 04 FJR and on the FZ6 1" up and 1 3/8" back risers (Gen Mars).

I'm 51 and don't like/can't do the forward thingy...

Much more comfy now, for me at least, on both bikes....

The ST BMW's are nice as well if you are looking for a sport tourer.

SV650 was a good bike, not sure how well the Gladius filled its shoes but a buddy went from a sv to a glad and loved it.

I dont' think honda is making a straight up standard anymore but an older 599 or 919 are both good standard bikes.

An upright seating position. ???

Well I realised that the FZ6 doesn`t have that, so after 2 years I sold it and bought a bike with an upright seating position.

If I had to go with an upright it would be the Triumph Tiger 1050.

For more sporty upright I'd look at the Triumph Sprint or an older Honda VFR.

I would say the Ducati Multi-Strada. It has been on my wish list for a long time. Just like the FZ6, it's half faired and has an undertail exhaust.
But I understand the 2010 went with a side exhaust.

It's specifically designed for commuting and touring, while it has still has the sporty look and performance.

I ride with a couple of guys that own a Suzuki Vstrom 650,
and a Kawasaki Versys 650, both twins with similar ergos
to the FZ6..but both are "tall" bikes, to me anyway, at 5'8"
they seem ridiculous compared to my Yamaha that fits perfect

that VFR must be a great ride, 'cause IMHO it's about the most boring
looking bike I've seen in awhile, reminds me of the mid 80's...sorry guys
but can't imagine anyone buys that for looks ;)

Probably why there's enough 2007s still in crates being given away. But I still think it's cool.

Love the cans on that bike they are really nice looking but something really looks out of proportion. Seems like the front of the bike is setting to tall or is that just the angle of the photo that makes it look that way?

As far as upright without losing the cool factor I agree with fazer.rider the speed triple is the way to go, would love that one to be my next!

Depending on your budget, I would either look at a Suzuki V Storm or the BMW K1200GS. They are definitely on my short list of next bikes for me:D
