I had one fitted to my 2009 FZ6- I made up a plug and play wiring loom so it could be added in quickly and taken out again without cutting into any of the wiring. There is a plug under the tank, in front of the battery just behind the top triple clamp that goes to the controls on the left hand side of the bars( indicators, horn hi/lo beam etc). The STS unit plugs between the original plugs and sits on top of the battery. After making this, the fiddliest part of the install is taking the indicator switch apart to insert the little rubber stops to force the indicator to not "lock" onto left or right.
all in all its a pretty straightforward installation. I still have mine- its up for sale if you are interested- see below. I moved on to a XSR900 and there is not much space to fit the unit without extending the wiring. So I would buy myself a new unit if I decide to install again- maybe I should as I got used to the self cancelling and now do leave my indicators on at times.
