oil filter?? nooob question :o

hi i was wondering what the filter is behind the down pipes at the front of the engine? its not the oil filter as that is located on the bottom left side of the engine am i correct??

The filter is on the side, I think what you are asking about is the oil cooler.

I believe that is an oil cooler. And yes the oil filter is that car style filter at the bottom of the motor.

The filter is located on the left side of the engine. Here is a pic, the filter is yellow and just behind the stator cover...

Are you referring to the water pump? That is in the front of the block behind the header, right?

Nope, just drain the oil and change the filter. The cooler isn't really a part that requires service normally.

Are you referring to the water pump? That is in the front of the block behind the header, right?

The water pump is on the lower right side, directly below the clutch cover.
