Mirror mod?

I'm new rider and noticing it's rather difficult to see traffic behind me. I'm constantly having to move my arms in to see cars on my tail or move head to try and peek around myself. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, whats your experience and the mod you've tried. I've read about swapping left and right, bar end mirrors or the extension spacers. What works best?
