You are right next to a river and have a 5 gallon container and a 3 gallon container. You need to measure out 1 gallon of water. How do you do it?

So whats the problem?
You fill the 3 gallons container, end put the water from it in to the 5 gallons one. Then you fill it again, end repeat the action. You have a space only for 2 gallon in the 5 gallons container, so you have one gallon left in the 3 gallons one.
