poorwboy wanted an R1 section
we have a few members with an R6 and rockhound with his new FZ1
I thought we could add a other Yamaha section with sub-forums model specific.
I think this would bring in more members and hopefully more people to ride with.:D

I agree. Having a "Other Yamaha" or just a "Other" section may promote riders of other Yamaha bikes to hook up with some FZ6er's and get more people involved in some group rides. I'm sure many of the visitors to the site have Yamaha bikes and are looking for a good clean place to talk to other Yamaha riders no matter what kind bike they have.;)

There are plus' and minus' to both scenarios.
Expanding the site will draw more people and expand the experience pool from which we draw, ideally....more people == more useful knowledge to share.
On the flip side it will dilute the specific focus of the site and you lose the die-hard enthusiasm and replace a strong focus on one subject with a broad generalization.

My fairly selfish opinion would be to keep this site separate, I'm just worried that were you to expand the site, the FZ6 section would become the dusty storage closet that no one ever looks in. But at the same time, you own the domain and I have to assume you intend to use it. You've done an excellent job with this site (which we all greatly appreciate) and I have every bit of confidence that you would do equally well with a broader scoped site.

So in the end, it's really kind of your call. I'll still hang around regardless and I know that's all anyone cares about:Flash:

I don't have any problem with that. I'm sure it would bring in a lot more riders to the board and almost certainly give riders more opportunities to hook up for rides, rallies, and track days. I think it would open many doors.

I have no problems with that either, worst case scenario it might make us moderators have to censor some posts, to keep the integrity of the forum like it is. ( NO PORN / Flame Wars)

Hall of shame is up

Hall of shame is up... we need a trophy now...

That sound like fun to me. Also, Steve had a really good thread a while back that asked for pictures of interesting stuff from where member live but it never took off. I admit I haven't sent any pics to it yet but I'm going to soon. I think it or something like it wolud make a neat sticky thread.

Now for my dumb idea. We could have a "Hall of Shame" section for members who scuff/drop/hopefully not crash their bikes. You know, for people who had a brain fart like I did and laid my bike over in the driveway because I was too busy flaping my jaw at my friend and didn't check to make sure my kickstand was out all the way before getting off my bike. Pics of the damage could be posted along with words of wisdom from the victims of "Mean old Mister Gravity" This area would not be ment to embarrass anyone and would be completely for fun and information on how not to do things. I have a small old wooden horse figurine that's too ugly to use as decoration at my house. It could be mailed(like a trophy) cheeply from member to member as each mishap gets posted so that they could take a pic with it to put in the "Hall of Shame" kind of like the Stanly Cup. I thought that might be fun and give the members who have had mishaps some sort of camaraderie by having their mugs shot with the wooden horse. Worst case is you'd lose a little face and pay a few bucks to mail the figurine to the next member and that's if it had to go over seas. Kind of "Roaming Nome" style if you know what I mean. The wooden horse may be too complex but it's just a thought.:)

Cool. I will go on the lookout for some trophy contenders.

A yamaha forum would be cool. I have the same concern that it could but that is could become diluted. It may make it even better so its probley a risk woth taking.
Yamaha rocks.

I think expanding is a good idea, yes there will be pro & cons. but im sure things will work out as we go on. like mentioned before make it a Yamaha sit but open it up to different bikes. Otherwise meeting up with people from all over the states and from canada would be great. And if people from across the pond come here or we go there that would be fun. As far as i know in May that would be the 1st time for some of us to meet. Besides the people we have here are very friendly and when questions are asked, we try to answer them, if we cant then wew find ways of doing so. I am very happy with this forum, and i tell people about us all the time. So lets all keep up all the good work and time to expand. But then agian this is my view of things.
