One of our many SoCal ride reports! :D

Goop (Bryan) and I road the border today. I call these rides Border Patrol because we end up a few feet from the border of Mexico.
We ride from the El Cajon, Ca. area through a lot of different back roads into these areas and roads along the border. We exited to the 8 freeway from a little town called Jacumba. We stopped for lunch off the 8 freeway at the Golden Acorn Casino then on to Sunrise Highway toward the mountain town of Julian and then towards home. The weather was warm at times but surprisingly mild heat for this time of year.

A stop off Lyons Valley Road.

At the border. On the other side of that fence is our neighbor Mexico.

At a wind farm off the 8 freeway.

We stopped at a pullout on Sunrise Highway. In the distance you can see the Salton Sea (blue near the horizon). A salt lake in the middle of the desert.

From where this picture is taken we are about 5000 feet above sea level and 50 miles away as the crow flies.

Here's the location we took the picture from:http://www.findmespot.com/mylocation/?id=8pISw/32.94517N/116.49506W

Thank you Bryan for continued great friendship and riding!
What a great day! :D

This trip was non-business, right? Not waiting for a handoff or over fence package chuck or anything?;);)

I assume you green card was up to date  :D
Funny I knew the guy came up to see what we were up to. He had passed us and was checking us in his mirrors.

We were really close to the fence. I wonder if that's the closest road to the border in the US?
