Interesting read... I've been wondering what happened to the SV series bikes, I think the VStrom is the better bike of the two myself. As for the Ninja 650R vs FZ6R, that's an interesting comparison. I actually bought one of those Ninja's back in '06 when they first came out. I was hooked by it's looks, but after riding it for a few weeks I had buyers remorse. That really was a buzy bike, the fairing made so much noise at low speed and idle that I ended up tearing it all down and putting on this thin foam tape in all the seams and cracks, that helped but it was still noisy.
The power was also a little disappointing but not a deal breaker, just seems like they threw something together real quick to compete with the SV and FZ. They made it pretty but very unrefined. I like this FZ a lot more, it just need more bottom end and it would be perfect.........
