    no threads for Drive Sprocket Retaining Nut

    so i was cleaning my chain and saw that the Lock Washer and nut were gone there are no threads left on the main drive shaft for the nut to screw on to to keep the washer and sprocket on. Can i re thread that shaft or do i have to weld that nut on now.
