WHEN: October 9th, 2010 - Meet between 11a-12p WHERE: Pine Grove, PA - Meet location is [url=http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&t=h&z=18&mid=1286494555[/url] This route was suggested by Funkmaxtor, and I think it looks like a fun ride. Afterwards he has graciously offered to have a cookout at his...

    Hanging off

I hang off almost all the time. The whole idea of hanging off is so that you do not have to lean the bike over as far. I hang off even during casual riding if it is a sharp bend just the lessen the lean angle.

    New 27" iMac anybody?

I have 13 iMacs and a Mac Pro at work that I manage for about 300 students per school year. Never had a problem. I have an old iMac first one with Intel processor and a brand new macbook pro. Wouldn't want to touch a Windows machine ever again. The new iMacs look awesome but I'm a little...

I just replaced my 021's at 8200 miles. Great tire if you mix commuting and twisties.

    Wheelie gone wrong.

Hope the wrist heals soon. I used to race BMX bikes when I was in high school. I hyper-extended my knee racing so I switched to mountain bikes. I used clipless pedals and shoes on my bike and one day felt the need to ride a wheelie around my driveway. All went well for almost an entire lap...

    video camera question

Final Cut only uses Firewire as well. (It is an industry standard) The importing options are due to Quicktime not being able to read the format. There are a 101 different answers to this question so I will try my best without actually sitting at the computer with that camera. Please bear with...

    video camera question

Two things! iMovie HD (or any other version) will only recognize Firewire devices. So if your connecting using USB (common mistake) it will never work. Two: When you create a new iMovie file choose widescreen format. It will adjust for the 16:9 ratio. If you cannot connect the...

Great site - You Park Like An A$$hole

Printing some notices as I post this. I have the same a-hole professor that parks behind my bike with less than a foot from my back tire twice a week that is motorcycle only parking. Tomorrow he gets a notice. Glad I'm a grad student and the class is at night!

Where and What were you doing on 9/11?

What do you teach? I'm also a teacher. I teach Technology Ed. Engineering, Photography, Graphics and TV Production. I was sitting in a HS drafting class and watched the second plane hit on TV. It was a life changing event for me.

    Asphalt canyon?

Yea that has happened to me before. I was on SR (PA) 422. The road was 1 lane each direction. At an intersection I needed to make a left turn via a turning lane (not shared). The turning lane was freshly paved where as the lane I was in was freshly milled. It was like a 6 inch difference that I...

    Unofficial Contest: Trickiest Local Corners!!!

This is Gold Mine Road. This corner is at the top of a mountain. It is a blind descending corner (at least the direction we ride it) with an elevation change of over 100 feet in a rather short distance.

Trist Of The Wrist I & II vs. Total Control

I am currently reading Total Control. I am about half way through it and have practiced a few of the drills he suggests in the book. I can definitely tell a difference in my riding. On a side note, I find it very easy to fall back into my old habits so I plan on practicing the drills...

    question about signal blink rates

The blinking rate is controlled by electrical resistance. So generally replacing a standard (incandescent) bulb with an LED will drop the resistance and speed up the blinking rate. However you could add a resistor to the circuit to slow them down if you don't like the rate or not use LED...

    The Texas FZ6 in Pennsylvania.

If you get an opportunity to go south hit Route 125 south through a tiny town called Tower City and then Goldmine Road. Great riding! Thats my back yard and I ride that road every chance I get! Enjoy PA! Note: 125 starts in a town called Shamokin.
