PITA is an understatement. Getting the upper rack + the two spacers + the lower rack to line up around the cross-section of the grab rail is seriously maddening. I worked on it last night, gave up, and will try again tonight.

So it doesn't look too bad in regards to the cutting so I went ahead and placed an order w/ Twisted Throttle. Then I got an email stating that the unit is in backorder and estimated ship date is July 24 (2 months!) Called Twisted Throttle, and the guy on the phone estimated early July ship...

Do you know how drastic/difficult the bodywork cutting is for the Motech top rack? I'm looking at the .pdf install instructions but it's not clear how hairy this cutting would be.

Does the SW-Motech still look low profile once with the Givi/Kappa adapter plate? Also, the product description mentions "Requires cutting of fairing. " Does anyone know how extensive/difficult this cutting is?

So do you leave the saddlebags on your bike permanently? How does your bike handle w/ the sadlebags on? With the straps under the seat, I'd imagine passenger comfort (no tail bag) would be okay? Could you take pic closeups of how you mounted your saddlebags? I'm thinking about...
