Sounds like you are going through a lot of trouble to give these parts away. Thanks for your selfless effort and thanks for shippin' the signals out to me! :cheer:
I had a Katana once. They are heavy, cheap, beginner bikes with a pretty aggressive riding position with bulletproof, oil-cooled (I believe) engines. To compare them to the FZ6, I would say the Katana is like having a Ford Mustang......with a V6. What's the point? The FZ6, on the other hand...
The only thing about test rides that I don't like is if you damage the bike, then you have to pay for the repairs. It's like riding a brand new bike with no insurance. Your bike insurance in most cases won't cover it. I have read on forums of several instances of this happening.
Wow, there are some highly educated folks on here...I wish I had the focus and passion it takes to get the advanced degrees. I just haven't found anything that inspires me to dedicate myself...I think I just said I'm lazy.
I was doing a lot of slow riding the other day so maybe that explains it. If going pretty fast the exhaust would be forced out faster and would also dissipate quicker rather than whirl around back there. I'm guessing the slow cruising (15-30mph) allows the exhaust to roll around and get in the...
Has anyone noticed that when you have a passenger they complain of smelling of exhuast fumes when you get done riding? My wife says her clothes are nauseating when she gets off the bike and I have to agree that her shirt smelled strongly of exhaust fumes. I assume it's the pipes being right...
The sound you are describing has to be coming from the clutch basket, clutch, transmission because you say it does not match engine speed. I would 2nd checking the oil; as it runs in the clutch and transmission as well. Check the level and actually put some on your finger and look at it and...
I have found that I can lug the engine down to low revs in 6th gear and it will pull from 30MPH just fine...it's not gonna pull your arms off but it will pull without shifting. That's more than I can say about the VStrom 1000 that I had, it was a big V-Twin and would not tolerate that low of a...
I'm from Ironton originally, but now I live in Jackson, 40 miles up 93. Good to hear from ya, small world. We come to Ashland quite a bit to go to the mall, eat, etc..
It WAS the clutch lever!! Wow, thanks guys, that's amazing that it happens so often. Now, gotta figure out a cure so it won't do it. Maybe some kind of rubber shim between the lever and bracket or something. Thanks again, I was getting worried.
I have to agree with some on here about establishing a relationship. You have to remember that most of these guys deal with customers all day in a job that is not very rewarding. Working on your own bike is one thing, working on someone else's bike is another. I have read posts from mechanics...
Hey, that's right I post over there on occasion, I especially lurk on the Jomomma section as it's really something to see. I have dabbled my foot in that particular forum but man will they chew you up in a second. Although, this looks to be an awesome place for FZ6 Knowledge..heck I'm still a...
I know that many have had an odd vibration at 7-8000RPMs. What has it been diagnosed as mainly? At 8000RPMs and rolling with the clutch out in any gear (accelerating) I get an odd metallic loose bolt or washer vibration on the left front somewhere. It's a high pitched almost screeeeeeeeeech...
