I've got two FZ6's. They're both '07's the first one I got was the red and about 9 months later the blue. The red bike feels smoother and faster than the blue one. I consistantly get 55 MPG on the red bike. I tend to get closer to 50 on the blue biike even though the blue bike has pulled 55...
The Interceptor is a VFR, so you just recommended the same bike he was asking about. I've owned an Interceptor and they are great bikes, but not nearly as comfy as the FZ6.
Yeah sure was. It had excellent brakes and handled really well, you just couldn't use that handling because with so little ground clearance, the bike would scrape with hardly any lean angle. At 1600cc's it had really good power too. I had a neighbor with a modified Harley. We went for a ride...
My wife was sent to the Virginia Beach Carmax on temp assignment back in October of last year for 4 months. She said it was a really nice place, but that the drivers their sucked. Apparently she was correct.
Sounds like you've found that your answer is fear. Fear can be a good thing though so you don't start outriding your experience level more than you should. Just take it easy and continue to progress. Hwy 1 may not be the best place to push your limits if you get my drift.
Glad you came out...
I offer consolation here. I've considered making a change to a Vulcan myself since moving to Modesto. All of the roads with-in 1/2 hour or so are straight and flat. When I lived in Roseville, I had access to a number of twisty roads and could make it to Reno or Lake Tahoe in under 2 Hours. I...
The litre bike debate is a difficult one. I def. don't want a litre sport bike, the riding position just wont due. The FZ6 has probably got to be my all time favorite bike all things considered. I owned this ZRX1200R
and I must admit that I absolutely loved the midrange and top end power...
I don't know that I'd agree with that. He's riding a 450cc dirt bike. If it's a two stroke 450 then those things have a power band that would scare the crap out of a guy used to a 600 cc street bike. In the 80's I had one of the fastest KZ 1000's in town. I rode a KX420 on the street and...
Nice pics. One of these days I'm going to have to make it out to MO and do some sight seeing. I've got family in MO that I could stay with. In fact, my younger brother is there right now. He just won the national power lifting event in bench press and dead lift for his age group. The event...
I'd suspect something with the front tire / wheel. Check to see if the rim is true. Make sure tire is in good condition, properly balanced and inflated.
I had this problem on a Honda Nighthawk 650, and it turned out the rim was out of round.
That was a pretty funny story, but I don't know if the elbo thashing thing was a good idea especially if it was raining at the time. Might want to restrict that activity to the BR until you're more experienced riding two up.
Man, I'm sorry to hear that. Glad to hear that you're doing OK. My wife just had her first bike drop a couple of weeks ago. I would just suggest that you use this as a learning experience so you don't repeat in the future. It may be safer to just hit the water and clean off the spots...
+1. Just log the miles to show how much fun the bike is to ride and that it got used regularly. I'd take a higher mileage bike in good shape any day over a bike with really low miles for the model year. Mechanical things that have lubricated parts need to be run in order to keep seals and...
Thanks for the input guys. So, if I'm reading this pic correctly, would you guys agree that it's piece #10 that I need based on what I circled in my first photo. From the pic, they show this as a seperate piece so it must be something you can replace. Looks like it might have 3 attachment points.
Hey guys,
Well, I guess it was bound to happen. The wife had her first spill with the FZ yesterday on a ride. Of all places, she pulled into a parking lot behind me, slowed down and for some reason decided to use the rear brake to stop instead of the front. The parking lot had a slight...
