Clicking noise when moving in reverse

Townsend - yes when I changed the pads I cleaned the rubber boots and put in appropriate red rubber greese prior to installation of the bolts. Will post the fix when I get it fixed, need parts and time. Gary - ya now that I know what it is I'm more at ease. Not sure how well riding in reverse...

Clicking noise when moving in reverse

Took the caliper off and spun the wheel, no noise at all. I decided to seen what it was like putting the shim against the disk and the sound was the same just continues as opposed to certain points

Clicking noise when moving in reverse

If there's no sound try turning up your volume or checking it's not muted, it's def there as Gary could heir it. The mechanic tested the wheel there's no wobbling. He also said that if it was the noise would be there all the time not intermittently. I litteraly showed him the clip and he...

Clicking noise when moving in reverse

So I went over to the local bike mechanic (needs an oil change) and got him to have a look at it. The noise is coming from the brake area, the metal shims are sometimes touching the disk. But the disk is slightly warped which is most likely the culprit. Thanks anyway guys

Clicking noise when moving in reverse

If it was the wheel bearing would it not be there constantly? Like it vanished last week when I went to have a look and lightly pressed the brakes

Clicking noise when moving in reverse

Had a feeling that was the case bud haha. Cools, cheers for that advice. Il bring it to that when Iv cleaned it all out. I just figured to put it to that cause that was the lower measurement. That's the same one that I based the measurements off on.

Clicking noise when moving in reverse

I know that isn't the original chain. What I meant by feel is, touching it as I spun the wheel. What kink? I said there wasn't a kink. I didn't do the chain, the previous owner did. Wether he did it him or not I don't know. Nor do I know the brand of the chain. I adjusted the chain so that...

Clicking noise when moving in reverse

I haven't cleaned the chain in about a month and was planning to soon. That build up is only on that section of the chain. The chain doesn't feel toast and there's no kinks on it. Unless it's some grit as you said but if that was the case it wouldn't have gone away today. That's why I'm still...

Clicking noise when moving in reverse

That seems to be the link. It was the only one different to the rest. The guy who I bought it off wrote down the chain was done about a year and a half ago. The clicking noise seems to be gone today, tried walking it and rotating the rear wheel backwards and wasn't clicking noise.

Clicking noise when moving in reverse

Sorry about that. It's the rear brake. I went down a while ago and had my ear to it to be sure. I'm not sure how long the chain has been on, didn't change it when I bought it. What I mean by before is after I first changed the pads the clicking noise came on after a few weeks. It annoyed me...

Clicking noise when moving in reverse

Hey all, Just wanting to see if anyone has any suggestions to a weird clicking noise. Basically when I walk the bike back it makes a weird clicking noise. It happened before after I had changed the brake pads (and the caliper mount due to my own stupidity snapping a bolt ) so I took it all...
