I’ve had my license for over 3 years, but ridden 125s and stuff like that for many years prior - as for miles i couldn’t hazard a guess... but alot.
1. Learn how to fall. Sounds silly but i always rehearsed in my head how I would fall, tucking my hands into fists and into my chest, rather...
just a quick update to close this thread - the problem has been solved!
my magical solution was to get T-boned by a car and have the bike written off. RIP to my FZ6 :( lucky for me i had all my gear on and i don't have a single scratch on me.
incredibly sad as i really loved that bike. really...
Correct on the boot - actually I’m still wearing the same boots I passed my test in :Flash::Flash:
I’ll get back to tou guys as soon as I can, hopefully the weather dries up a bit, recreating this will be VERY sketchy in the wet!
Is this a sign that the spline underneath is also fine? I mean this thing is really going nowhere lol. I’m waiting ror dry days to come and then I’ll get the gopro out and try and not die while i recreate this for you guys. Duly noted on the fitment of the brake, i can imagine that would be alot...
Hey guys I’m literally in my garage right now. Managed to get the back wheel off nice and easy, upon inspection I can’t see anything to write home about, but for the life of me I can’t get the front sprocket off. Tried the pinning method (snapped the screwdriver) and also with an allen key for a...
thanks to everyone for all of your thoughts, i've been mad busy with work here so i haven't had a chance to look at anything - i finish earlier tomorrow so i should be able to get a good look after work. i'll update some pics as soon as i've done that. i just spent 800 on re-boring my cylinder...
Thanks mate, will check out the spline asap. Would the clutch issue present itself only when ragging it? It just seems strange to me that normal riding doesn't show any problems whatsoever.
Hi all! Hope everybody had a good christmas and new year - really hoping for some help here:
Bike operates fine under all conditons, no faults to report anywhere at anytime, apart from the following:
If I pin the throttle (not sure if any particular gear) the bike will accelerate like a...
What you might be experiencing here is you being a little more cautious while shifting clutchless - i do alot of riding with a passenger and i find unless you're hacking it on the motorway, you really have to adjust the way you accelerate/shift. i second the comment earlier about not shifting...
I had completely bypassed the killswitch by pulling the wires from the harness under the airbox and connecting them together. still no joy. however, whilst i was rooting around there, i heard a click every now and again from the SSCO relay... instantly my heart leapt. after much searching in...
I haven’t got the schematic no. I’ve had a search around but presumably immobiliser diagrams are not readily available for obvious reasons...
I tried the new relay and sadly it didn’t change a thing. Despite rebuilding the killswitch assembly a few times, i’ve snipped the wires again and tested...
thanks again all for your continued input, I've ordered a new relay, gonna swap out the old one, hopefully that fixes the problem (ref the link i put up a few posts ago from another user experiencing similar issues) if it's not that, I'll check the immobiliser. failing that... it's going to the...
Yeah that one - i even rebuilt the damn thing twice already lol.
My old man is gonna have a look tomorrow morning, already he is suggesting to just buy a mew relay and swap it out see if there’s any joy.
One thing - the killswitch failure that is prone to this model, where does the fault...
Really losing my mind here guys...
Last night I painstakingly took apart the bike for about the 10th time, pulled out the killswitch loom and rewired and resoldered the connection. tested it with the meter, whilst wobbling in all sorts of directions, getting a perfect reading throughout. Built...
Ok I’ll give that a bash - the problem is occurring in Neutral however, would this not already have proved that? I guess there’s no harm in trying though. Whats the best way to bypass?
I guess I would have been looking for signs of failure, see if there is any solder I could repair or at least confirm that the unit is/isnt to blame. While I was in this area I tested the harnesses for the relays there - the small relay closest to the SSC/O is not getting any reading from...
I'm out West, so the outskirts you could definitely say. There's motorway out here with little to no enforcement. That plus late night = safe bet. You should hit it up!

Is it worth me cracking the starter relay open tomorrow and having a look? I did a little searching around and it seems the chap from the thread above was experiencing similar issues. Perhaps there is a loose...
