Thank you all for your help. I ran and got the right size sockets today at lunch, loosened it all up and after a few kicks in the right direction it's straight.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Now I need to decide If I'm going to replace the faring at all.
I think the parts I...
The four bolts are the hex clamps right? None of my hex (alen) wrenches fit are they special sizes?
I snapped a picture and circled the bolts that I think are the right ones.
Good, because I don't think I would have gone as far as all that. :D
I'm still bummed, and fighting the temptation to just take it in.
Is there some trick to loosening the T-clamp?
Hmm...All I need are two pieces of 2" steel square stock...LOL...I wonder if two 2x4's would work. I'm not sure I have any. I have clamps though. ;)
Don't mind me as I joke around some. I went home for lunch and played with the bike a bit. The front wheel is not quite straight when the...
I have not determined for sure but this sounds like what I should check first.
I don't have the bike in front of me so are the bolts on the triple clamps pretty obvious? (are there only two on an FZ6?) I do have a torque wrench, how many Ft/lbs should I retighten them to?
I have tools and...
I am pretty close to sears point, about 30 minutes. I drive by it every so often. I'm pretty much on the northern limit of what could be called North bay. (Northern, north bay?) I'm in Santa Rosa.
According to Craigslist Northbay is everything from the GG bridge to Healdsburg...But I've...
Bike was droped in some soft dirt on it's left side. It was moving, but pretty slow.
I rode it home without any trouble. but when riding straight the handlebars are off center. Not by much and as I said before unless you are moving you can't tell. Visually I can't see any damage to either the...
I'm bummed but want to admit my mistake. I'm totaly ok witch is good. Bike has a cracked faring and the the steering is a touch out of alignment. I checked it out for a while afterwards. It all seemed ok. I sure hope it's not damage and is just something that can be realigned.
Pretty boring...
I'm pretty new to my FZ6. So I'm still getting used to where I want to keep the throttle.
My last fillup I rode 197 miles. When I did the math it came to 47 MPG.
This was around town keeping the RPM's at around 4000-5000 unless accelerating, which I tend to do as fast as possible until I...
I'm in northern CA. North of San Francisco if you're familiar.
So as a complete Noob, I'd like to share my day 2 impressions.
I have a lot to learn. And a lot to do yet. Still getting used to how my FZ shifts. It's not as smooth as the honda CBR600 that I rode last weekend. But all of that...
I'm going to pick up my 05 FZ6 this evening.
I'm so stoaked, can't wait. It's in awesome condition with 5k miles with tank and tail bags included.
I'll get some picts once it's actually in my posession.
Last few hours of work...Slooowwww...
