    Ever wondered, "Which Exhaust Should I buy?"

    Well, let me put it another way. If you know the diameter of both, then you can look at pics and see how far apart they are in the middle. Diameter x 2 plus the distance between, and you'll know. Also for what it's worth, I am very happy with the 2 bros. They are very well built, the...

    Ever wondered, "Which Exhaust Should I buy?"

    FWIW...I got the oval 2 bros and they just fit with the GIVI...In my opinion, it looks awesome, as there is not a bunch of space making the exhaust look small or the GIVI look too big. Loren edit:so I'm sure you could go online and compare dimensions of the two different manufacturer's cans

    ~~~$$$The Recent Purchase Thread$$$~~~
    Yep, that's it...I have a bunch, but no I do not try to sharpen the carbide tips, only the plain HSS ones. Even then, it's just because I have a box of them, and I can't see to buy more when I have them. Besides, they work well for smaller lathes like this...Some day, larger motor, improved...
    ~~~$$$The Recent Purchase Thread$$$~~~

    He He...I have that same rule for myself... Bits are 1/4-1/2" HSS. I grind them myself, depending on the need. In the process of finishing my first radius turning tool prototype. Then I can make balls, handles, things bikes like :-)

    ~~~$$$The Recent Purchase Thread$$$~~~
    Very nice! I've been thinking about getting some "soft luggage" since taking off the GIVI rack (although I still us it, it's just not always connected). And I just realized, I never responded Scott...oh yeah I've been riding the h$&@ out of it!! Alum bars still on, still feel the road a bit...
    New member welcome thread..
    Welcome! Yeah, once you get riding again, you wonder how you ever lived that long without. At least I did. So, what are your plans with the bike? Are you a wrencher, planning some mechanical mods, or more just looks/functionality? Sometimes the smalles things can make a huge difference...
    How to edit signature??
    Try filling out all of your info. Give a custom user title instead of just "Junior Member". And try going there manually, not clicking on that link. At top of this page click on "Settings". Then on that page, on left, you'll see "edit profile" "edit profile picture" "edit signature" etc...on...
    Seat modifications
    If you decide you want to go that route, I have a stock seat in excellent condition. I'd be happy to let it go, I'd like to see how this turns out as well :-) I bought one of the Gel seats (like I said before, almost same as stock, maybe 3/4" thicker, just more comfortable), and so I have the...
    High idle that won't adjust down
    Seems again that this is why the fluid idea sounds good to me. I'm sure there could be debate whether one feeler will do damage or not, or which size to use....But in any case we would be relying on the fact that nothing moved. Oh, but we have the cable locked?. Well, I say whether we're...
    High idle that won't adjust down
    I *think* that what Scott was trying to show is that the way of setting them at the factory is plate levels AND actual vacuum, re: customizing the bikes fuel map(s). I read that post, and it was emphasizing that the map is made assuming that the flow through each butterfly plate is the same...
    Seat modifications
    Thanks Gnyce, I was going to add that for him as well, the footpegs. Only issue there is that, depending on riding style, clearance issues can come into play cornering. Still, probably not a problem, plenty have done it on the FZ6. We're not talking about track day here, right :rolleyes:. If...
    FWIW...I shaved my windscreen down 2.5" and haven't noticed any difference. Loren
    High idle that won't adjust down
    It was marked with paint from the factory. Did you look at it before you turned in to see if the paint was still original, as in not just paint to paint but one continuous line of paint not yet broken by turning that screw? That screw, tightening it (turn in 1/2 turn) opens the butterflies on...
    High idle that won't adjust down
    Well, good the cables both have slack. But still need to verify that the plates are actually closing. PO may have screwed with the butterfly proportioning screw. It's the one in between the throttle bodies. See it in FinalImpact 's post up there a few. In that picture you can see it in...
    Aluminum Bars, Vibrations, what to do
    Yeah...seems that way huh...but that's where the science comes in...Damn science (Ha...actually my favorite subject)... See I thought that too. Hence after both deletes my cans were 1.75 I.d., with reducer ring to 1.5" at the very end on both. Loped. 2 Bros are over 2" I.D., wide open even...
    High idle that won't adjust down
    Agree with everything so far, but remember, he said that *engine temp has NO EFFECT* As I posted, I agree visual inspection not necessarily enough to rule out hoses. But, if engine temp has NO effect then I doubt it's IACV related, or Air Mix.... Well, air mix screws at least....Sounds like...
    Aluminum Bars, Vibrations, what to do
    Yep, I agree. And would have agreed before, like I said, I just didn't know it wold make THAT much of a difference. Taking cats out (each time I took one out) didn't. Drilling exhaust didn't. Doesn't seem like I just got lucky there, many people get away with that on this bike. Seems like...
    Aluminum Bars, Vibrations, what to do
    Oh, and since this is Important I won't just edit the last post. I should have mentioned though.... I've said it before and will again, I think I did a nice job on the homebrew exhaust. But being as though I am just learning about exhaust, this ended up nothing more than a great teaching...
    Aluminum Bars, Vibrations, what to do
    Figured I'd reply here Scott. Yep, vibes are gone. There's still a *little* buzz in the bars, but I'm convinced it's just those AL bars and the frequency of the exhaust. This week I'll finish machining my bar ends, about 10oz each, that should do it :-) So yeah, wanted to post some pics of...
    ~~Daily Feed, post what made you laugh today ~~
    Shoot I cant look, I don't do Facebook...is my joke part of one going around? Edit: oh, now I saw it. Ha. I once got my Sister-in-Law with something similar. She was pissed when the guy at Sears explained how the vacuum didn't really need a "flux capacitor"...he he he
