    2007 Stolen, Electrical Problems

WE HAVE IGNITION. After reading around on a couple other posts about people having issues with starting after attemped hotwire, I found that someone had issues with their neutral safety switch being fried by having direct 12v on it. I checked my switch and found that it would not give ground no...

    2007 Stolen, Electrical Problems

I'm at work now and have access to a better DMM with a diode test function Between pins 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4 I get no continuity one direction and detect a around .5V drop the other direction so I am assuming that is good. According to the test I am not getting continuity or non continuity but...

    2007 Stolen, Electrical Problems

Motogiro more updates! Was able to get battery voltage on the light green wire to the ignition relay assembly. All fuses have continuity. Main fuse at 30 and the rest under left pod good. Still no green signal from neutral. No crank with clutch in and stop switch on. Weird note: could not for...

    2007 Stolen, Electrical Problems

motogrio Thanks for the suggestions. I will pull all fuses tonight and post readings. I will also check and make sure I have the main fuse correct. I saw it was blown immediately and assumed that the one next to it was a spare but I can confirm. I do notice that the relay within the module I...

    2007 Stolen, Electrical Problems

This is good to know. I already have a new (used) module on order but I can check this weekend if I get some time to see if its really the culprit. But it sounds like you've seen this before and based on what I understand the module does, it seems to make sense. RPF its funny, I had my DR650...

    2007 Stolen, Electrical Problems

Thanks Cliff! I'll pull that assembly tonight and see if I can get the relay to switch and get another one on order. Much appreciated! I will check back when I have some info. "It isn't faith that makes good science, Mr. Klaatu, it's curiosity."

    2007 Stolen, Electrical Problems

How could I check that relay? And I can get the bike the crank if I short out the neutral signal, not sure if that would come into play. I suppose that relay could have been fried when attempting to hotwire right? That would be really great if it wasnt the ECU! BTW Motogiro, love the Day the...

    2007 Stolen, Electrical Problems

Pretty solid confirmation that the ECU is done then? Would the neutral light issue have anything to do with it? I find that odd because I never had an issue with that before and I know they didn;t get it started to damage it at all.

    2007 Stolen, Electrical Problems

Hey all, Had a pretty bad week last week and had my beloved 2007 FZ6 stolen but recovered last week. Some homeless folks cut the main ingition switch harness and tried to joy ride but couldnt get it going and gave up... not before they replaced my battery with an incorrect hunk of junk and...

Repair Fairing, go naked, or mod to S2?

Not sure how lost your front fairing is but mine had two large cracks and I thought it was donezo. I went and got some really nasty ABS plastic bonder. One can of prep (watch out this stuff is agressive, see paint remover) and one can of adhesive. Got it from lowes. Glued it together with a...

Iridium spark plug are NOT forever..

Could someone clear something up for me? I would imagine that to a point, a plug could technically just be regapped when worn? Obviously to a point and barring fouled, damaged, and very worn plugs, the wear is just the change in the gap right? Its not a huge deal to change them out and replace...

Cold start, momentary tick from valve cover.

Have fun! Not having to drive to the dealer allows for more during work refreshments! :D

Cold start, momentary tick from valve cover.

Some money saving advice: If you are going to reshim your bike, I wouldn't bother buying the whole shim kit. You might be able to switch a few around and may only end up needing a few shims. You should be able to go to any dealer and trade them out with the kits they have in stock. I think my...

Cold start, momentary tick from valve cover.

Love@firstride, we dont have a hydraulic clutch but the clutch plates do ride in an oil bath and could slip if something other than oil gets in there. Townsends, could you get a video? I really dont think it could be anything that bad if it goes away so quickly. It would be worth opening up...

My First Wreck-Where Do We Go From Here?

I took a pretty hard crash about 9 months ago. Totally destroyed front end plastic, radiator, tank, bars, lights, ect. I ended up sourcing all parts from here on this forum. A fairing here, headlight there, tank, ect.. It was all used and slightly scratched but was together. I got it all for...
