24 hour newbie goes down; seeking feedback

I think you just need to practice more. I move bikes all time up and down a 30-degree, 1- feet wide "driveway" without problems (imagine the back of a truck with a flat sloping threshold, just half the width though). You'll get used to it.

How old were you when you first rode pillion?

My dad took my mom back from the hospital 2 weeks after she gave birth. Guess who was in her arms behind my dad. No joke.

    Bike Dead, Please help.

Haha that's what I thought too. Just wanted to make sure I didn't leave out anything before actually cut the wire! Should I be safe to leave the fuse inside the frame (I think I have a battery bolt that fell into that dark pit too, replaced it with new bolt because didn't have time/tools/skills...

    Bike Dead, Please help.

Just checked the 30amp fuse again. Turn out there are two of them :-o The one on the right is very easy to take off. I pulled it out and saw that the two prongs are still connected like new. The on the left took a little of force and dexterity to take out. I might have used too much finger...

    Bike Dead, Please help.

OK Thanks a lot guys! Let me sum it up real quick: the only thing I can do now is to cut open the section that exits the frame to fix any pinched/damaged wire AFTER I disconnect the battery/pull the main fuse? My FZ6 comes with a battery box top that is bolted down so I figured there's very...

    Bike Dead, Please help.

OK, didn't get to ride a lot since the incident, and as it got up to the 60's yesterday, I rode it out and bam! same problem. I thought I knew for sure it was the fuse again, so went ahead and checked it, and all other fuses on the bike (dramatic pause) ALL INTACT. Being paranoid, switched them...

    I want to go naked!

VS01 and VS02 are different in terms of the fairing shape. Other than that, everything else is the same. The least you can do to get the bike naked is to remove the front fairing + headlights and add new headlight, blinkers, mirrors and a tach holder, I believe Vishnu's kit includes all of...

Best (cosmetic) mods on the 6.

For sure, pics are coming lol. Lots of them. I gotta wait till it's warm enough here in Wisconsin to roll it out again :( also need to go borrow a good camera, because for me when it comes to photos, it has got to look good  Just for pointer, here's what an white FZ6 looks like (not...

Best (cosmetic) mods on the 6.

Just to have an idea what people think is the best cosmetic mods one can do on the FZ6. Have seen a lot of nice bikes around and came to conclude: - Remove the front fairing: trust me, do this and you feel like you have a totally new bike, like a hidden gem in rock. - Remove the rear...

    WTB FZ6 or FZ6R-new rider

Just to confirm outasight20's input, I was born and grew up on motorcycles (Vietnam), rode all kind of things from 50cc mopeds when I was 12 to 1000cc Harleys, and my first thought when I test rode an FZ6 from a Craiglist private seller was: "Holy **** this thing is fast." Of course the only...

    Bike Dead, Please help.

Spot on Motogiro! Mine Fizzer's naked so I did do some re-wiring, and also recalled just minutes before it went dead, one of the wires binded and prevented me from doing a full lock in the parking lot, so I just pull it out of the way, and just minutes after that while I was doing the full lock...

    Bike Dead, Please help.

Hi DavesFZ, thanks for the response. When I found out about the blown fuse I actually did a Google search and found the exact same thread, bookmarked it right away. Will follow along tomorrow morning and I'll update here if come up with anything. Thank you all people for your help!

    Bike Dead, Please help.

Ok, first problem found: I went through the fuse box (on the right side, under the right seat pod) again and found out my Ignition Fuse has blown! Now I haven't gotten around to change the fuse yet, but it got me thinking: 1st: what blew it in the first place? 2nd: anyone who knows FZ6 electric...

Knocking sound, Please help me diagnose.

I have had that numerous times on my bike too when I did aggressive engine braking. I suspected it was the tranny but asked around only to hear that was no problem. And so it was, no problem at all. The next day I rode the bike, the noise was gone. Another time when I had that ticking noise was...

    Bike Dead, Please help.

Thanks David, when I bought the battery, I tried to pry info out of the salesman about it. I asked him how long should I charge it before plug it in and he said it's already fully charged. I really doubt that so I made him pull out a meter right at the store and sure it reads 12.8V, still in...

    Bike Dead, Please help.

Thank you Lawlberg, I have checked all the connections again and again already, still nothing wrong. Pulled the fuel bump out, cleaned it over, checked both Fuel Level Sensor connection and Bump connection, all intact. Kill switch/starter contacts are all clean and solid. Again, brand new...

    Bike Dead, Please help.

Fazil thank you for replying! I'm trying to remove the fuel bump to see if is there any residual crap in it and got stuck at the little plastic catch, but from the look of things (pump, hoses, electric contact) everything seems to be fine. I also hot wired the kill switch but it did nothing...

    Bike Dead, Please help.

I live in Wisconsin and don't have a garage to store the bike for the winter, so it was covered in a college parking lot for almost 3 months. Just a couple of days ago when the sun was out, I decided to take her out for a ride. Fired right up, no problem. Just yesterday night when I had to...
