Someone recommend a sport riding glove?

Look at the new S&S gloves. I had the older ones and they fell apart also. I have the newer ones and they have held up to 6 months and two wrecks of riding.

KONY 2012 - What do you think?

One, the LRA moved out of Uganda about 5 years ago. The video even states that. So why keep bringing it up. Yes he's evil but have you looked at the current government there, The one that we are supporting? BIG LOVE: Kony 2012 (Part One): An American-African's Critique Why the Kony...

    tire shopping

For someone like you it's better to just buy sport touring tires and be done with it, if you never plan on taking the bike to the track than doing crazy (stupid) speeds on the street than you'll be fine. But to answer the question, All depends on what you get. Street tires are plenty capable...

    1/4 turn throttle?

Oh to answer the original question most other bikes, like the suzukis mentioned above have way more than a 1/4 turn. Most yamahas already have 1/4 or close to it which is why every one steals them. You've probably heard the term 1/4 turn thrown around so much that some people use it anonymously...

    1/4 turn throttle?

It mostly came from the Suzuki world as I remember it. The stock suzuki throttle requires adjustment. Stick an R1 tube in and you have a 1/5 throw, put a R6 you have a 1/4. I've seen bigger cams(shorter throws) look around the race paddocks and its not uncommon to see ALOT of bikes with...

    tire shopping

Absolutely nothing wrong with take offs I run them on everything from the 250 to my GSX-R 750. Reliability and performance are NOT sacrificed or an issue.

    I wasn't paying attention :(

His helmet had the straps screwed in. He went and bought nylon webbing from a fabric store and simply took the screw out and replaced the webbing. He used loctite on the screws but said maybe it wasn't a good Idea if he had to replace it again.

    I wasn't paying attention :(

Depending on the route home I would not have worn it and cut the lock later. In my case I live like 3mins from work and its through a neighborhood @30mph. luck you gets to go shopping and upgrade. I remember a friend reataching straps though, I'll see if it was a redneck thing or a legit safe...

    Which Tyre????

For grip the Dunlop Q2 I've ridden the 016 and they will eventually give up on the track long before the Q2, the Bridgestone 003RS is more on par. If your down under you usually have the choice of Dunlop Q2 and the Sportmax, which is even better. Like anything else if your looking for grip on...

What lids (helmets) have actually PROVEN to hold up best in a crash?

I've actually had those guys tell me that because the way they sit and ride their bikes they don't need helmets. It's because we are leaning forward means we are gonna go flying and need them. :BLAA:

What lids (helmets) have actually PROVEN to hold up best in a crash?

Shoei/Arai the top two brands. they have completely different shapes, only the Arai Quantum II has the same shape as the Shoei RF/X series. So if a Shoei fits an Arai SHOULD NOT and vis versa. All helmets must meet a minimum standard but some go above that standard. Oh and the features...

    Amsoil Lubricants

As a Dealer of Amsoil and selling mostly to the motorcycle community everyone has their different opinions. I've been getting ready for race season here in Texas (first one being this weekend) and alot of people are using Motul, although I have one friend who swears by his Rotella 15/40. Of...

    Oil/filter

As many people will say I'm biased on this topic but I have used Rotella in 2 600CC bikes and my 750 It simply doesn't hold up as long before it stats to get clunky shifts, false neutrals, and pours from the pan like water. Mobil 1 worked awesome for me but Amsoil has held up the longest on the...

Is the rear tire peeling out?

Tire compounds, temp and, road conditions affect this also. A harder compound will wear slower than a softer compound. This will have nothing to do with acceleration or deceleration, even at a constant speed the soft tire will wear quicker than a hard tire due to abrasion with the ground. And...

Is the rear tire peeling out?

Nice using logic to solve the issue however it is wrong. Not trying to insult you or anything just that it isn't correct. Even on the track tires are worn at nearly a 2-1 rate and the only time the rear is used is to adjust lines during trail braking( "backing it in" is the extreme example of...

Is the rear tire peeling out?

In general people are harder on the rear than the front people accelerate harder than they brake. And in general the rear wears faster than the front because it's rear wheel drive. And yes tires for the track can get expensive especially when you start racing. If you want to save some money...
