Congrats on the purchase! I test rode an S1000RR during a dealer's open house day. Let's just say that at any legal speed in the US, the bike feels like it's on a leash. I know I wouldn't have my driver's license very long if I bought one.:D

Thieves suck! Have you filed a police report? Even if the theft wasn't successful, it's good to file it for insurance purposes and to help law enfocement track any trends; ie, a bike theft ring moving into the area.

To be more specific, I think I'm dealing more with exhaust heat coming up through the saddle as my main issue. Does anyone else have that issue and if so, how did you solve it?

Purchased new 7/24/10 in hopes of downsizing from my BMW K1300S, but decided to keep the Beemer instead. Currently has under 500 miles on it and has a 600 mile service scheduled for 8/7. Bike is in mint condition and is located in Fairfax, VA.

I think this is the shock. It feels off in the damping. I've ridden some good distances to include a Saddle Sore 1000 on my BMW without any back issues.

I'm 5'11" with a 32" inseam. While the beads may be a contributing factor, I find the saddle to uncomfortably hot without the beads. The one thing I was not prepared for on this bike was the radiator heat. My feet and legs get rather toasty. It's not as bad as a BMW R1200R, but a lot more...

Don't get me wrong, it's a good bike at its price point. But I've ben spoiled by my BMW and since I do a fair amount of riding, I may as well be happy. It's not like I'm hard up for cash; I can afford to keep the Beemer, but I was hoping to make my addiction easier on the family budget.

I can relate to #11 of the original post. Put 5,000 miles on my truck in the past year, but 16,000 between two bikes.

I did the Dragon last year with my brother and it is a fun little road. I had a good time, but I don't my brother did. I don't think he was ready for all that turning. Here's a pic on my K1300S. BTW, the saddle bags are all filled with bourbon from my stop in Kentucky. :D

If you're running a stock headlight bulb, try a PIAA. They;re noticeably brighter.

I've run PR2's on a K1300S and gotten LOTS of mileage out of them. The rear got noticeably squared at 13,000 miles and I still hadn't hit the wear bars. Nice predictable grip and decent ride. A little pricey, but well worth it.
