    Cuts out on steering

Good news :) My mate came along, we cut all the zip ties and eventually found the bundle that was failing (at first it seemed random), I don't know where it was from but the waterproof sheath had a white band around it. Anyway we found what we thought was the place causing it to cut out...

    Cuts out on steering

Hello, Thanks. No error codes. i removed the headlight and it's the wiring loom that goes into the ignition. Well, attached to below the ignition is a kind of black metal housing (rectangular) which looks like it might be attached using hex bolts and it's the wires in the sheath that goes into...

    Cuts out on steering

Hello, I know it must be a short, but I'm stumped as to where to look. I've had my FZ6 for 3 years (almost from new) and no problems at all, it's in perfect condition. This morning as soon as I move the handlebars ever so slightly off-centre to the right the ignition cuts out, whether the...

help! broken down, can't get home

So, does anyone know if you can fit an LED in place of the parking light? I know you can get LED indicators (busy saving up for a tail tidy with LEDs) but not to replace the parking light.

help! broken down, can't get home

Luckily I work on a bank. It was the battery, I was fearing the worst. It was those rapid flashing immobiliser lights and bright headlight that made me assume it was immobiliser. Obviously user error ;) but I blame two things, one not having a parking light indicator on the dash and two that...

help! broken down, can't get home

you're really my hero :uk: flat battery. who would have thought 10 hours of that little light would break it. It's so damn near the wheel lock. I think I'll not bother with the lock anymore. It just put me in the completely wrong track with the wierd immobiliser flashing lights sequence. It's...

help! broken down, can't get home

Right, immoliser light is flashing normally with no key in, then when I stick it in the immobiliser light looks like it's flashing three times then two times then three times rapidly. If I try and start it, I just get a clicking noise. The lights seem to be full beam.

help! broken down, can't get home

Hello, I have a 2008 FZ6. Just went to start it to go home and the red light with the key (that normally blinks to show immobiliser is working) starts flashing like mad when I turn the key to on. Nothing happens after this :( Is my key broken or something else? is there a way to fix it? It's...

    Ahhh, such a nice feeling!

This is dedicated cleaning for you ;) YouTube - ‪Clean your Motorcycle - Part 1‬‏ WD40 (assuming this is a UK name only) is effectively kerosine as mentioned earlier, with a few other bits that he uses a lot.

just passed test. Help with fixing some things on FZ6

Thanks. I defo need to adjust the pedals. When I was riding home (I'm quite tall, 6 foot 2) I found my feet were on the peg but with toes inside the brake/gear pointing downwards so to change down gear I had to lift my entire foot off the peg. Same for rear brake. But going by the diagram...

just passed test. Help with fixing some things on FZ6

I rode it first with my plimsols (I know, it's wrong) and everything was fine. But having largeish feet (size 11) and wearing full size boots the only way I can change gear/brake is by moving my feet out and around onto the pedal. That movement (there's a slight heel on the boot) seems to cause...

just passed test. Help with fixing some things on FZ6

Hello, I just passed my test yesterday and so could ride my FZ6 for the first time :) Anyway, I have two minor gripes I'm hoping somebody could help with 1. The clutch cable is right in front of the key and it's really annoying. I saw a thread for 'mikes' mod to redirect the cable but I...

fazer for a beginner, but what about the twitchy brakes/accelerator?

Thanks for all the responses, there are some quite differing opinions :) I checked out the ninja250 as recommended by the article and the insurance and cost second-hand (and the dimensions for that matter) is not that much difference to the Fazer (£260 or £220 fully comprehensive insurance on...

fazer for a beginner, but what about the twitchy brakes/accelerator?

Hello, So, I'm undergoing DAS ('fast track' bike test for over 21's) training/examinations (UK). On searching for a bike after I pass I find a number of bikes classed as 'ideal for beginners', although a bike capable of 0-60 in 3 seconds and can outclass a porsche is hardly a sedate bike ;)...
