S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

I will do that. I will also check voltage drop between battery + and coil positive supply. New spark plugs and eBay coils are on their way too. Voltage drop between battery- and chassis is 0.014V so the main ground seems ok. Even though I have improved the ecu ground (voltage drop from 0.25v...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

Usually I have a cold start difficulty. Only once it happened when hot. AI claims that in wasted spark configuration system a reversed polarity can cause starting problems because: reversing primary polarity causes the spark plug's central electrode to fire with positive polarity instead of...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

It is felt like something hits somewhere. Huge mechanical load to an electric motor tends to increase the current to a theoretical infinite, dropping the voltage nearly zero. It is not felt like an electric short which stops the mechanical movement due to voltage drop, it seems like the...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

Yes i ve seen this video and thank you for pointing this out. The truth is that i am at a point where i have not spotted an obvious root cause so I should start replacing parts until i hit the right one. A yamaha mechanic had said to me that "perhaps" the coils are going bad but I could not...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

What could be the reason of intermittent spark. The ecu not reading the cps pulses properly or something related to the ignition coils..

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

I installed a fuel pressure gauge for a few days. Running pressure is stable at 2.7 bar (no accuracy rating marked on the gauge). Engine off drops at 2.3 bar. An hour or two later it drops at about 1 or 1.5 bar and rests at 0.6 - 0.9 bar hours later. The falling rate is not stable, one day may...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

Is it possible to do a compression test by loosening ( or removing) the coolant radiator? I feel more confident doing this instead of removing the tank, air filter, battery mount and the underneath cover. I understand I will have to remove the efi fuse and coil primary connections too.

Nope, I have the headlights controlled by a dual switch, turned off now that I am just troubleshooting and no riding.

Thank you for your reply. Sorry for the huge picture (I was using my phone). I had a rule of thumb changing the battery when the instruments illumination start turning off during cranking, or before the battery's 4th winter, and the time has come I suppose. Can anyone figure out what is the...

leak down test = pouring some oil in the cylinder and measure compression again ? i ve seen that after mesuring a low compression they pour oil to seal the piston rings and see if the compression gets better on the next measurement. I ve also seen a quick way for a first indication of leak, by...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

Reading this thread https://www.600riders.com/threads/fz6-no-enciende-caliente.60598/ I realized another possible contributing factor to my problem. Loss of compression. On February I went the bike to the mechanic to address a revving mild hesitation. Changed spark plugs (the one I recently...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

This time I had a delayed start. I cranked for 4-5 seconds and it refused to start. I had cps signal as seen in the video, strong enough to be detected as far as I can tell but the ecu reported an error 12. Then I cranked again ( just after I stopped recording) and it started normally. I think...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

Regarding the first two pulses that are closer together it seems normal since according to the service manual illustration there is no missing tooth on the pickup rotor, but the first tooth is closer to the second, creating a gap with the previous one on purpose, so the waveform matches...

Yes I made a split cable and connected the crankshaft sensor to ecu and the oscilloscope

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

Today that I did not want it to start, it started at once.. I suppose the missing pulse every 8 pulses is for the timing sync info the ecu reads? I also noticed that the first two pulses after the missing pulse are closer together than the rest are (AI says that's normal and documented, but...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

I disconnected the battery for 5 hours. Then i entered at d61 and there was a 12 error, which i deleted. Exited diagnostics, cranked, did not start. Switched off, on, retried, got the mechanical lock (discussed earlier) in the first one or two seconds of cranking, immediately released the...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

Bike untouched since yesterday. Same pattern: today the sequence was: 1) installed spark tester, switched ignition on (primed ok), no errors on the display, cranked but no start. No spark at all. Switched igntion off. 2) entered d30 mode, i got 5 nice strong sparks. switched ignition off 3)...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

Nothing was touched since yesterday when I had no spark at all on the last attempt. I just tried d30. I've got 5 sparks. Removed the tester, plugged the coil cable, cranked and it started perfectly. But this has to be tested while its in a state that it refuses to start. By the way, is there a...

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

I just noticed that I can activate the coils manually: d30 : Coil 1 is activated 5 times per second. d31 : Coil 2 is activated 5 times per second So if I activate the coil and get, or not get a spark, what each case will help me to focus on?
