I have a lot of "fun" on mine so my milage isn't the best, but I'm getting about 42 miles per gallon right now with almost 4,000 miles on the bike, but when I first had it the mileage was really terrible, seemed to smooth out around 2,000 miles on the odometer.

for a quick fix progrip makes a set of streetbike grips, and the blue matches my biker perfectly.....nice and thick, little squishy even. Got them from my local motorcycle shop, but if you want I can probably find you the link

+1 on Arai.....got an RX-7 corsair w/ a premium paint job for the street, and a VX pro 3 for the dirt (when I'm terrin it up on my raptor!) Both were pretty expensive, but the way I look at it I wouldn't want to have my head in anything else. I mean sure my street helmet retails for over $900...
