Yeah, long beach isn't the best area but it isn't as bad as compton. Depending on your budget, im sure you can find a decent area near LA that would be a lot safer without being as much. You said that your budget was 1000 for a 1 bedroom, you could absolutely find something in that price ranger...

haha alright. Yeah i went over my airbox and it said the same thing, to check it and make sure that it isn't loose or broken. Idk why the honda would have you drain it so much, maybe being a carb'ed v twin had something to do with it. Gotta love that fuel injection :)

I'll try to look for it next time I'm working on mine. Idk, because i remember the vlx had the tube and it would get water and unburned feul and oil in it and you would get rid of it that way. Maybe it was CA spec or something like that.

Wondering where the crankcase breather tube would be on my '06 fz6. The service manual isn't really specific about where it is or where to drain it. My last bike was a honda vlx 600 and i remember having to regularly drain it every 15k miles or so.:confused: Sorry if it's a pretty noob question

In CA, lane splitting isn't illegal under 30mph. Personally, i wont do it unless traffic is at a dead stop or going below 10mph (think freeway jam or looooong line to a red light). I don't see much point in doing it if you aren't gonna get very far ahead and if the risk is too great, especially...

The manual calls for either Yamahalube 4 20w-40 or sae 20w-40 oil for where i live. I have yet to find that kind of oil, sometimes ill find 20w-50 or somewhere close. What kind of oil would work well, looking at API rated full synthetic

Good to know. When do you usually change your oil, the manual and most people do around 3-4k miles, but im sure with fully synthetic I would probably stretch 7000 out of it. I'm just not sure how the engine would deal with it, from what it seems like these engines are pretty tough

Yeah i checked it today and everything is good. I know, my main concerns were underfilling it by it not being on the correct stand or by not letting it run on for a minute. The manual says to run it for a bit, but im guessing not so the engine is hot, just so the oil will circulate a bit Full...

Alright thanks, really helpful info. I guess ive been doing it wrong with the side stand on and checking it cold. What's ur opinion on oil changes. I use fully synthetic and don't really drive aggressively

Alright that's really helpful. I'll check the ingredients for my chain lube and see if that would be useful, mainly because it comes with one of those straws that would make it a bit easier. If it doesnt have any graphite in it then I'll use some engine oil. I'll get to the middle adjuster...

Hey, I'm wondering how exactly I check my oil level for my fz6, do i do it with the dipstick either screwed it, or just set on where it screws it. Also is it better to check it cold, or after a minute or two after it goes throughout the engine?
