You may like the naked conversion if the wind is a real problem. I wanted a smoother airflow when riding so I'm doing the naked conversion. I also like the looks too, so it's a win win.

That's the nice thing about 250s, they tend to hold their value because there are always new riders looking to get a cheap beginner bike. I'd bet the OP will take pretty minimal losses considering the riding time and experience he got out of it. :thumbup:

Plus frickin' one! This summer for sure. I'll have my bike finished for certain by then and we'll get some cruising in. I'm not familiar with the good roads around the city, just in my area, and I'll tell you right now there aren't many. :(

I cannot agree enough with this post. I took the dmv driving test for my motorcycle license and I went to an open parking lot, drew out the course (to actual size) and ran through it probably 50 times. I'm about one hundred times more comfortable at low speed because of it.

It's definitely better to richen by too much and more slowly lean it out than the other way around, that's how you destroy motors. Take your time and you'll get it tweaked in exactly how you like and you'll still know it's reliable as ever. Now I have a quick question I was wondering about...

Depends on where you live. In the US, motorcycles don't have to comply with yearly emissions testing like full size vehicles do so it's perfectly legal in the US to remove the cats. Since your quote was in pounds and not dollars, I'm not sure what the laws are across the pond.
