Sounds like a short circuit. If you are not blowing fuses its quite likely that the starter solenoid is the source. Disconnect the positive lead from it, and bump start the bike to confirm/eliminate.

Maybe the key is the problem...do you have the other key? Yamaha supplies 2 with every new bike. If in doubt get a fresh key cut at the dealer and try that first.

After all of your effort, I would suggest that your front tire is worn asymmetrically. You could cut a template to exactly match the tire profile, then flip it 180° and see if gaps/peak appear.

Based on the responses so far it appears others have experienced a problem with reduced mileage from plug degradation of one sort or another. I can't imagine spending >$150 on coils, wires and caps to chase a phantom ignition voltage issue instead of $25 for new plugs to demonstrate whether...

Use some Brake-Kleen or similar chemical to clean the floating buttons that hold the rotors on to the carrier rings. This will help to greatly reduce front brake chatter. Refer to the image below...

There are 2 screws that hold the caliper to the hanger/bracket. Take those out and lift the caliper away from the disc. The 2 brake pads will be sitting there on the hanger/bracket, slide them off. Slide on the new pads, put the caliper back on. Repeat for the other caliper.

Sorry Scott, I overlooked the model year that you have. As the 07-09 have different calipers/pads I'm sure that accounts for the different specs. My mistake for not paying attention!!!
