I agree that's what you'd expect and with a mech system it would pretty much have to be a fixed percentage but based on what I've observed with the FZ it is not actually the same percentage across the whole range. YMMV.

It's consistent with what I've observed - pretty much anywhere over 50 mph I read about 10% high on the FZ compared to GPS. Below 50 it's still high but not by the full 10% My cars (4 different ones) have always been within a mph or two with the same GPS.

well - to help out then. Entering street riding and 180lbs you get the attached. Doesn't account for two-up but in my simple mind I'd figure that the extra weight is distributed so that it wouldn't cause a major issue for the forks.

We could always do one of Tracy Rd or Rt 17 which would cut it down to a ~260 mi loop - not quite as low as some of the discussion but less than 300. Here's a couple of ideas on how those might look. The Rt17 loop could get a little shorter still but wouldn't get much below 250 miles.

I think I'll just start posting more and more routes everyday until we nail one down - only two weeks to go and we haven't decided. Here's another 300 miler that gets the famed "Tracy Rd" and a very twisty section of Rt17. Attached a .zip this time since it was small enough - should be easier...

Your photos seems familiar (although not the exact same rack/case) - like you I use mine to carry my laptop/lunch etc to work - way easier than strapping down the laptop bag and means I drag a lot less stuff (like helmet, tank bag) when I get to the office.

I use the attached excel sheet to plan what I need to bring ("Nd" column), then as I pack I use it to mark off and make sure I actually bring everything ("Hv" column). Yes, I am an engineer and I stole the list from a boy scout.
