When I get the deal sealed on selling my Vulcan classic, I plan on test riding the VFR and the Beemer F800ST, and still considering a larger tourer like the FJ.

I have the Cortech tail bag, and sport saddle bags as well....like em so far.

Up in Maryland few yrs. back riding the Vulcan cruiser on backroads(hwy.29 I think) in a group of bout 30 bikes. Entering a 90 degree left w/ gravels strewn in the curve,everybody started jamming on brakes. I'm mid-pack trying to keep an eye on the skidding chopper in front of me and bike...

Only thing I would caution you on is not to expect the M109 to handle as well as the FZ6. That huge rear tire and overall weight and bulk make it unsuitable for aggressive riding in the twisties, and less likely recoverable if it gets "crossed-up" on you. Ride safe, have fun, just take a little...

For the last sixteen years I have been the service manager for a 170 unit apartment complex, prior to that I built and remodeled houses for bout 20 years....wanna land that job in the bike mag as a test-rider.

I had a great time meeting everyone and will definitely be at the next ride.....fall is beautiful in the mountains so....

I still am shooting for arriving by noon at crot Fri. Need to mention a recent newspaper article regarding the Dragon. As in a similar post today, local law enforcement in Tenn. and NC are upping their budget to increase police presence on the Dragon. NC's are issuing lots of warnings...

I just mounted the Cortech sport saddlebags and tailbag, like them quite well so far.

I'd love to hear a sound-byte, can't decide what I want to do with my pipes, stock is just a little too quiet.

I bought a new FF helmet,ride with visor down at speed, open when going slow. I hate wearing them,but after a freind went down wearing my Bell FF and I saw the damage to the front of it I know they will offer best protection. My Bell was trashed, but did it's job.

Bikes owned LOL I guess it was around '69 when I got the Sears, two other guys in the neighborhood had them, we had "moved up" to an actual clutch/shifter motorcycle-resembling thing. I thrashed the lil Hodaka for a couple years, fun dirt bike for the day.

Started on a Mobylette moped in '67,106 Sears...yep as in Sears Roebuck, CB160 Honda, 125 Hodaka, 360 Yamaha Enduro,three different 350 Hondas,750 Honda,KZ 900, Honda 400, and presently own a 2004 Kaw. Vulcan 1500 which I've put lil over 33,000 on and my newest toy the 2006 Cobalt Blue...

I was one of those slow-learners,married and divorced three times, single for six years now, and can't imagine asking anyone to put up with me now....older and more set in my ways....plus nobody to say"You're going off on that bike again?!"

I wave at everyone, once you pass 50 yrs. old people will just think,"Oh it's some old fart on a bike" anyway :)

I've had my "fast-blue" '06 up to an indicated 132 mph, and over 100 several times on some deserted backroad straightaways. Felt very smooth and "planted". oogie
