i had the same problem once and it was my fault, i didnt turn the key all the way to "on" and when i hit a bump it turned slightly to off and killed the engine.

if it starts when you hold the clutch is something else and not the start button. id say its the neutral indicator, standt switch, clutch switch or an other electrical problem but NOT the start button! think carefully, magicaly when you pull the clutch the button fixes it self? NO!

bleep the throttle a little after each adjustment and TAKE THE SCREWDRIVER OFF THE SCREW !!!!! it makes difference!

You can reprogram your key yourself in 2 mins, thats why there is a red key...manual states how to do it...

maybe a used engine from salvage or something is the cheapest way to go... you can find a totaled engine and take this part only sorry my friend this damage is expensive...
