I agree Howattzer, and thanks again for the comparison. The R1 is a bike that I see myself moving to in a few years (when I can find the 09 used!), and this type of comparison is very informative and insightful. Keep the answers coming!

+1 I'm in the process of doing this same mod, the CBR1100xx Blackbird clip ons will do the trick. Found mine on Ebay.

I use a K&N oil filter. It's got a nut welded to the top of the filter so you dont need to use an oil wrench. Easy on and off. K&N Oil Filters - Oil Filters for Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, ATV's, Boats, and more!

Why would you try and verify functionality by doing something you dont normally do? I'm not sure if that's normal but why dont you try riding it the way you normally do, letting the clutch out in between shifts, and see if the problem is still there? Edit- :welcome: to the Forum!
