I am surprised how linear the torque curve is...I always thought there was hardly much torque below 3500-4000 rpm.

It was a 2008 and I had it for 2.5 years and almost 11k miles. I am not saying it doesn't have enough power in the low and mid range. what I am saying is that compared to it's competition it makes most of its power in the upper rev range. I can feel the difference riding a monster and a VFR now...

Althought the FZ6 has a lot more power it is concentrated in the top end. I read in BIKE that at 6000 rpm the FZ6R makes 20% more power. It is more useful. When I had my FZ6 I don't think I eve saw past 10k rpm, so all the power on top was not useful to me. The FZ6R is built more on a budget...

Yes, it was such a good deal that I was amazed he threw in the Zumo for free. I think he didn't want to bother to take it down. I passed along my great deal and sold my FZ6 for $3500 with the trunk and farkles.

Thanks for the kind words. I do think we are the same type of riders...ones who like comfortable ergos, a touch of sport-touring, and great over all bikes! Now, if my FZ6 had the FZ8's engine/transmission in it I don't think I would have switched bikes..8-)

Glad you are recovering. The abrasion sounds like potentially got superinfected a little which impaired healing. Wound specialist is a good idea. WOuld be very curious to hear your comments on the VFR once you ride it. I am looking at a used 2007 this weekend that is an awesome deal..
