i've heard the skyline is a nice ride but haven't ridden it yet. is there a good place to stop and meet up around there? for that area, i'll likely be coming from 3->17->208.

no need to meet at the mall if it's not convenient. i suppose it will depend on the route.

if it's just the 3 of us, the mall that anthony suggested is probably ideal and on the way for each of us. brown bag lunch sounds good to me - now i just have to figure out what i can make/bring!

agree with the road grime. could also be some kind of grease/lube breaking down. i'd give it a thorough wash and maybe an oil change while you're at it.

my speedo cluster blackouts happened today while riding. thankfully, the lights and engine did not cut out. in my case, it was a loose connection at the battery positive terminal. when i hooked up a relay/power supply, i tightened the battery bolt directly on the bare wire as a proof-of-concept...

hope this doesn't hijack the thread, but i experienced something very similar yesterday where the power cut out (no lights, speedo cluster, etc). luckily, i was not riding at the time. just turned the key and the bike had a blip of power (tach needle rotated and stayed at fully rotated right)...

i can't tell from the pictures for sure, but it looks like your meter only goes up to 200mA, which may be too low for that circuit. when i was hooking up my usb power, i bought a multimeter from home depot that measures DC current up to 10A just to test the circuit. going back to your initial...

if you still have the other piece (the piece that snapped off inside the cable), you may be able to flatten the connecting pins on the plastic and connect it up again. keep in mind you should do so at your own risk. i would recommend that if you do decide to try it, use an external enclosure...

i'm guessing there's a loose connection somewhere that's causing a drop in output. take a multimeter and check the output of the outlet in current and voltage. i'm assuming you don't use the same charger for the phone and gps. some chargers/devices are very picky on inputs and will not work if...
