Need Help 2007 Yamaha FZ6 no crank issue

Did this bike have a wreck at some point? I have never heard of a stator that suddenly interfered with the rotor. I have seen aftermarket stators that didn’t fit properly…but they don’t change shape. Has this stator delaminated?

Need Help 2007 Yamaha FZ6 no crank issue

    That’s my guess as well.

S2 Crank but no start. Low d09

Great diagnosis and trouble shooting. If you have checked and eliminated corrosion at all of the connectors, then you may have corrosion in one the wires. The most likely suspects are the main battery cables. You can test this by attaching a jumper cable from the battery negative to the engine...

My 08' FZ6 has never had the fork seals replaced:questions

Yes. Copper washers deform when they are torqued and should be single use. Also while you’re in there, take a look at the bushings for wear.

Light scoring on the fork tubes - Bad Seals? No Oil?

I would disassemble the forks and try to polish the tubes with oil and steel wool. Is the scoring isn’t too deep, this should restore the surface. Of course while the forks are apart you can service with fresh seals, bushings and fork oil. You can also measure the length of the fork springs to...

Question s1 rear shock what to buy

So it's Yamaha's fault because they aren't able to reproduce hundreds of thousands of components in a repeatable fashion. But our shock company - that no one has ever heard of - is able to get components from many sources in China that are amazingly consistent. Insane. As you suspected you will...

    Stutter/no acceleration/power loss when hot

If you have low fuel pressure it is there all of the time. It manifests into a poorly running engine only when the demand exceeds available flow/pressure. It is easy to pipe-in the gauge adaptor and temporary connect the gauge to the bike.

    Stutter/no acceleration/power loss when hot

Have you checked the fuel pressure with a gauge? Seems like a first step when the fuel pressure is suspected to be low. Otherwise you’re just guessing and throwing parts at a problem hoping for the best.

What happens with 1 year old, un-treated, E-Fuel??

What a mess. I store my older bikes with 100LL avgas and the newer ones (EFI) with 89 non-ethanol to avoid spring fits of rage.

    Dual headlight mod

As punishment you’ll have to listen to two hours of videos titled “What is this noise?”.

Crank but no Fuel Pump Prime

If you have spark, then it's not the tip-over circuit. Corrosion in a connector should be investigated. I would inspect the connectors for corrosion along the electrical path for the fuel pump. Of course the simple action of a break/reconnect in and of itself could clear a corrosion problem.

    Y-shaped cooling pipe

Not that it matters for this application, but the conversion process does weaken the metal. Something to consider for structural applications.

    Y-shaped cooling pipe

Looks like surface rust, for now. If it bothers you, replace it. Me…I’d remove it, sand the rest off and paint it. I’d also replace the badly corroded clamps.

    Is this mounting safe ?

I’m sure it will be fine, but like Townsends suggested mounting I’d address your blown fork seals when you get a chance.

    Catastrophic engine damage/noise?

What I hear on this video (in addition to the normal FZ6 valve noise) is a high pitched whine. That’s a sound I don’t hear from either of my FZ’s.

    Oil Fitler won't budge

If you put a piece of inner tube between the filter and the strap wrench, I guarantee you'll get the filer off - first try.

    Engine Light on Deceleration

Welcome to the forum. Have you checked the instrument cluster to see if there are any fault codes stored? How does the bike run when this happens? If you open the throttle does it go away? My get feeling is that it's either a wiring issue (corrosion at a connector) or a sensor failing. If the...

    Catastrophic engine damage/noise?

It's hard to tell from the video...but from what I hear that sounds like a normal FZ6. Take another video using PauliusD's advice.

    Oil Fitler won't budge

I’ve never met a filter that can’t be removed with a strap wrench. If you haven’t destroyed the outer casing, give it a go.
