Damn I wish I saw this earlier, I had the same exact thing happen and it turned out to be a loose battery connection. I had my bike towed home and felt like an idiot when i realized the problem. At least my insurance includes towing.

I took off the screen on my 06 and will try it out this week. I like the look too. If it feels good, I think I'll keep it that way and switch the mirrors to bar ends for a semi naked/fighter look.

Yup, I have one of these for my GPS. I figured the GPS has a fuse in it already and I'll just remember to unplug it when the bike is off. Quick and easy.

No complaints for me. Even after 275 mile or 7 hour days in the saddle, no problems. I do have a little extra natural padding (read as "fat ass") though.

An independent motorcycle repair shop, that also sells tires. I also want to say that I religiously check my tire pressure with a gauge before every ride to be sure all is good. Some tires have stiff sidewalls and may look feel ok but may be low on pressure.
