'04 fz6n - Purchased in '09 with 4500 miles. About to pass 45 000 miles. Only major fix was the stator - it shorted out at 40 000. Just had the steering bearing changed last month (had small vibration). I had new oil put in the forks (went one grade heavier). One set of brake pads...

Thanks Greg. I noticed something interesting, my stator has failed (last week) and it's in the exact same place as yours! I have attached a pic of mine to compare. My bike is an 04 with 60,000 k's (37,000 m) on it. When did yours fail? Cheers, Mac.

My mate's Z1000 was doing the same thing, rode fine when cruising but lost power when he opened the throttle. Turned out his fuel pump wasn't able to maintain the required pressure when under heavy load. New fuel pump and he's back in buisiness! My 2cents. Mac.

Does you tyre have two arrows (one each way) or just one? All modern tyres have a rotation arrow and usually the words "rear use only" etc. This does relate to intended use and direction of water channels. I'd never before seen a tyre that could be used both front and rear. Mac.

That sounds right, forces on the tyre would be an issue. I was wondering how it would effect water displacement? Maybe the old bikes don't go quick enough for it to be a real issue :eek::eek::BLAA: Mac.

Different direction arrows for front or rear application. I noticed the wheel rotation arrows on a Royal Enfield in the carpark at work. I've never seen anything like this before, have a look at the attached image. So, anyone else seen this? Mac. :aus::aus:
