If I hadn't lost the front brakes I would have continued. To have continued with just the rear brake would have been too hazardous. I depend on the front brakes to regulate speed and stop. The planned route looks like it's going to be a fun ride and I look forward to joining in on that fun :Sport:

The hole is designed as a drain hole so that water does not accumulate and pool up inside the sparkplug holes for each cylinder from a wash or rain. Pooling water in each plug hole may lead to misfire, corrosion, etc.

ah.. ok it makes sense why they want that much to replace it. I'd have it replaced asap, but that's just me and more so if were the front tire.

Around $10 if you buy the parts. I just happen to have them handy and snapped a photo of the valves and tool. The tool in the center is one I made years ago with scrap metal and a dremel.

Valve stems are available at major auto parts stores like Pep Boys. They come in a pack of 4 usually and the tool to remove them are available as well. Remove the valve stem with an air source near by, replace stem and refill air. Pretty simple to do.

leg waves to my right are common when I split lanes on the freeway to thank or recognize the driver for acknowledging me and giving me some room to move on by, I'd rather have my hands on the bars while in between cars.

when it's dark it doesn't matter what color the bike or gear is unless it has some reflective properties built into it, it will be hidden within the dark of the night.
