these 'sport tourer' bikes are getting smaller pillion seats each new model that comes out, kind of misses the point. i d rather have a gpz 900 sportbike for touring (look at the seat on that thing!) than the z1000/fz1

i like the official yamaha led signals. they cost 110 euro for a set of 4 (should translate to roughly about 130 -140 dollars) from the yammi dealer and come with everything you need to attach them - blanking plates, resistors and even cable ties. they are very bright too

personally i find the fz1 headlight fits very nicely to a naked fz6. as for the cluster be careful, the 07 plus have 2 plugs as opposed to the one on the round clusters, so it may not be an easy swap

for more expensive helmets you do pay for the exotic materials, better padding and vents. normally the higher end helmets tend to be race helmets, so they fit tighter, at the beginning they might feel uncofortable, but with time they stick better to your head. one must first and foremost go...

i have put a kn on my bike, and i cannot find any difference whatsoever in noise or perfomance. i have the stock exhaust so that may count, i got the kn just for the sake that it will last the lifetime of the bike ( by that i mean i dont think i ll ever reach the 100 000 km the filter is quoted...

ah that's interesting. i would have sworn they were the same looking at them, i never checked the part numbers. maybe they have some different mounting points? anyway i like their look, thanks for clarifying it out.

i think the fz8 headlight is the same as the one used on the fz6r. yes they do look nice i really like them better than the naked fz6 headlight

yes they are the same. if you look at the part numbers for the disk, caliper and wheel are the same, so they are interchangeable:thumbup:

sorry just saw this thread... i had a bolt shear in the engine (the one on the lhs - the arm of the frame that goes underneath the thick radiator hose). ez out works fine, so try that first. to have better leverage, i removed all the bolts that hold the engine and let the engine fall over...

well for sure i d like to upgrade the seat and the suspension, and the s2 subframe which has a helmet lock and the detachable footpegs, they look cooler than the fixed items on the s1 a decent set of exhausts wouldnt hurt either braided lines are waiting to be installed maybe experiment...

that cowl if not the original, is an exact copy of it, so if shipping cost etc work out high, i would simply order the original one, at least it comes already painted. its made tough and the paint does not fade when left covered in dirt for weeks!
