i can assure you that they are the same. same shape, weight, fitment points etc. all that differs is the colours! i know because i have bought an 07 blue one to fit on my 06,when i had one of my accidents and broke the black 06 one. the 07 fit perfectly wiht no issues and no modding or anything...

i have gone the over the mudguard route. i like aestetics and did not want that clamp in the middle of the mudguard not to be used and did not want lines criss crossing in front of the rad but the race setup is easier to bleed apparently.
