Worst case your old bike gets used in a bank job and a swat team comes through your front window, but more likely you could get their speed camera tickets because you never released it. If the new owner immediately transfers the title then I don't think it's an issue. I'd get it sorted...

New OEM clutch cable w/ teflon light oil sorted the clutch out for me. It has a narrow range of engagement but it should be smooth if the cable is well maintained. Myself and many riders like near zero play in the throttle to smooth it out quite a bit.

Interesting. I'm still seeing mainly BMWs around. I thought police bikes were special versions supplied by a manufacturer under contract after a bidding process. Crazy situation.
