+1 on the music. (Unless there is a crowd) A garage is such a cold hard place the addition of music can really influence my mood while I tink around. It might be cliche but I listen to classic rock while I'm in the garage, it really seems to go together.

I'd raise a stink over it. We spend hundreds of dollars on gear for safety and it is expected that the bike be structurally sound. I would want it fixed before I took it on the road. To me there is no reason to even chance it.

I have the best AAA package that AAA offers which includes nation wide towing, even if I'm in a buddy's car and it breaks down they still will come get me at any time. It isn't all that expensive and if I ever need it, it might just save my butt. Maybe consider getting a AAA package that suits...
