History of the Yamaha FZ6 ?

For an authoritative answer you'd need to go to Yamaha, but the Wikipedia article is a pretty good place to answer your questions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_FZ6

Shoei Transitions Shield for RF-1200 FINALLY SHIPPING!

Same here. I've heard the dark doesn't get all that dark which would be too bad.

    Forum Upgrade

I think you got it. Thanks. :) I notice that it's difficult to get to the advanced search. The only way to easily search is via the global search box in the top right, and that only searches the entire thread. I often search titles only as searching the entire thread usually brings up too...

    Forum Upgrade

I'm having issues with search. The advanced search returns nothing, and even the global search at the top right of the page (usually too wide) only pulls a few posts even though I know there are others with the same words.

    FZ6 HID PROJECTOR RETROFIT installations!

No doubt it is. Most anything is better than northern VA. I'm considering dropping it off and picking it back up. I bought the H1 mini kit from TRS back on Black Friday and I still haven't gotten around to installing it. I had a bear of a time on the D2S kit I bought for my truck, breaking...

Still doing these? Also curious as to where in VA you are.

Tail of the Dragon again or someplace new? Thinking West Virginia

I've been to Boone a couple times. Nice roads out there as well, and you're not too far from the BRP.

Mirror SWAP!? CBR 1000RR to FZ6????

Don't know if it's ever been tried here. Some people swap R6 mirrors on for their lower angle, but they don't include turn signals. You're probably in the best position to check if your buddy would let you pull one of his mirrors off to see if it would fit on your bike without too much...

    GoPro mounting on a 2007 FZ-6

But you do use the handlebars to countersteer... At any rate, countersteering requires so little movement of the handlebars that you'll likely never notice the movement on the camera, especially if you mount the ball towards the inside of the bars. I have the GoPro ball mount and suction cup...

Thought I was getting a deal. Looks like I'm the sucker!!

Sounds like a Yamaha cluster. I'm guessing it was down on the rider's left. Without a frame slider, the fairing and possibly the headlights were probably smashed, the tank received its dent, and the stator cover got its scrape. He may have even bent the handlebars. Is the rear "pod" next to...

Thought I was getting a deal. Looks like I'm the sucker!!

There is probably a Youtube video on how to replace the fork seals. Not sure about the float. It is normal for the lever to click. I believe it's the switch for the brake light. Bleed the brakes and see if you get pressure back. Steering head bearing may be bad. Put it on the center stand...

Remote reservoirs - where did you put yours?

Well I am impressed with Penske's support so far. My vendor (Hordpower) passed my pictures and emails to them and I got an email from an engineer today. We talked for a few minutes about the routing and what options I could take. We think that the best place on the S2 is on the subframe on...

    Rearview radar anyone?

Not sure what it attempts to accomplish that mirrors do not. I know it's not as easy to see what's directly behind you as you can in a car, but tucking my right arm in is not that difficult either. I think I would end up ignoring the display.

Remote reservoirs - where did you put yours?

Looks good. I think you have a longer hose than I do. Do either of your fittings swivel? I've been talking with my vendor about the install. He is going to forward my pictures to Penske tomorrow and see what they suggest. In his experience they have been pretty good about working with...

Remote reservoirs - where did you put yours?

After cutting away a bit more of the storage tray and putting a little more twist on the blue fitting on the shock body, I was able to get the reservoir inside and secured. I am still not a fan of how tight the radius is on the reservoir hose. I'll send Penske feedback on the FZ6...

Remote reservoirs - where did you put yours?

There's just not enough reach in the hose even if the helmet lock could be rerouted to the other side of the bike. The hose is very stiff and the fittings do not swivel. I did find this other user who apparently has the same shock and was able to fit the reservoir under the seat, however it...

Remote reservoirs - where did you put yours?

Well, after another hour and a half of struggling with the bolt and pin to mount the shock, I found another place that it will NOT fit: I rotated the shock so the hose faces forward and routed it to the rider's left side. There is not enough hose length to even get it to the helmet lock. It...

Remote reservoirs - where did you put yours?

I'm sure a broken chain is fun for a lot of reasons regardless of whether you have a remote reservoir or not. I personally exhausted my attempts to relocate it and I haven't found any other examples on an S2 which is why I asked here. Do you know how a forum works? Did you read my first post?

Remote reservoirs - where did you put yours?

The shock did not move on the 20 mile ride I just took, so it's better than nothing. I agree it is not ideal. Feels great though! I use my helmet lock almost every time I ride, so removing it is not an option for me. I am going to contact the vendor if there are no other ideas here. I...
