Clutch Cable Appears To Be Binding

Thanks for the update. I think I'm due for some clutch cable maintenance. I lubed the cable last year and it made a big difference. Then it got stiff again so I lubed again but there wasn't much difference this time.

    Plastidip tank durability

Being that it's cheap and easy to do, I decided to plastidip a few parts on the bike. I did the rear grab handles, the rear pods, and the tank. There was a bit of a learning curve, so I ended up doing the tank twice as I sprayed too far from the tank on the initial attempt and there was...

2 sets of mirrors on FZ6?

Have you done a TB sync? Even if you got a second set of mirrors, if the bike is vibrating that much, the second set of mirrors will vibrate as well. These bikes are pretty smooth. Be glad you're not on a Hardly Ableson. They vibrate so much at idle that your vision blurs!

2 sets of mirrors on FZ6?

I think two sets of mirrors on a motorcycle would look like belt and suspenders - silly. I find the stock FZ6 mirrors to be pretty good for a motorcycle. If I'm going fast enough to lean on the tank, I don't need mirrors. :) BTW, S1 and S2 mirrors are not interchangable.

Had any sun out in WV yet to test it out?

    Licence Plate Bulb and Voltage

It's 12v nominal like most car electronics. When the bike is on, the output is ~14v depending on RPM and other load on the alternator. I replaced my license plate bulb with a cheap LED as well and it has been fine.

    Where to start?

The Stebel Nautilus is a popular horn. I'm actually not sure where the stock horn goes as my bike came with a Stebel from the previous owner, but mine is tucked up inside the fairing on the rider's left. Several people say the stock forks are under-sprung and under-damped. Forks from an 03-04...

Not sure what exhaust to get.

I'll disagree there. While loud pipes don't prevent people from ignoring you, in my experience they do reduce the number of people who drive as if you aren't there. You should still ride as if you're silent and invisible, but it's nice not having to use an escape plan as often.

    Where to start?

Get a loud horn and frame sliders. It looks like you already have aftermarket pipes. Get FZ1 bars and do the dual headlight mod after that.

    What year/color is your bike?

Not sure what exhaust to get.

I also have Scorpions and they are pretty loud. It's a nice tone, but they are loud. I've never heard them side by side anything else, and online comparisons are pretty worthless unless a db meter is being used. I think the db killers are included with the pipes everywhere but the US...

    Xsr700

What a shame. I guess they'll just let Ducati and Triumph take all the sales.

    Xsr700

I doubt it. There are a lot of bikes and options that don't come over here: ABS on FZ6 FZ6 Euro top case Fazer8 XJR1300 And the XSR700, of course.

    Xsr700

After reading the Revzilla article on the XSR700, I think that this bike is another one that we won't get. "The XSR700 will go on sale in Europe this November in both Forest Green and Garage Silver, but the price hasn't been released." Way to screw this one up too, Yamaha. Cafe-inspired...

    Xsr700

We don't get too many cool bikes over here. The XJR1300 is one of them. At least Yamaha put ABS on the XSR700, a feature that has also been sadly absent from US-spec bikes for way too long.

    Xsr700

Remember the Faster Sons concept bike that Yamaha released last month? It's the XSR700: Yamaha XSR700 pics and specs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zev0x9LIM3A Other than the horrible, evil, terrible all-digital gauge cluster, I like pretty much everything about it.

Front wheel assembly - Front wheel axle pinch bolt

True, all bets are off if the forks are actually bent! :)

Front wheel assembly - Front wheel axle pinch bolt

No, you are actually flexing the forks when you squeeze them together. The forks are aligned via the triple clamps.

    windshield mounting harware

I'm guessing you have an 04-06? The 07+ have 6 screws. At any rate, I think the screws are the same. You can pick up a set of screws on ebay for $6 or so.
