    Crashed this morning

Yep it was an idiot move. I was wearing my full-face Nolan helmet, some shorty Triumph armored gloves, my Tour Master Response SCR boots, First Gear textile armored jacket and jeans. Nothing too serious, but prevented road rash.

    Crashed this morning

I totally hear ya Vegas... wish I could have prevented it but it was a pretty sudden and unavoidable situation :( Now to go get my Vicodin presription filled :)

    Crashed this morning

If I would have used the horn instead of my brakes, and he stopped, I would have went head-on directly in his drivers side door. There was enough time for me to just "clip" the back of his hatchback while I was in the air.

    Crashed this morning

Maybe I can start practicing those on the bike before it gets fixed :squid: Good thing I put the frame sliders on last week!!!! Man... lots of things are "lucky" about this situation. And just to double check with everyone, I was right to file a claim with MY insurance, correct? They will...

    Crashed this morning

Wish I could have handled my stoppie... but that was my first one (ever) and I wouldn't have had enough space to stop completely.

    Crashed this morning

Didn't have a chance to use my horn. I wish I did!! I had enough time to slam on my brakes and bring the back off the ground before I hit him. It's pretty crazy to me that a LEO wouldn't come out. The other guy called 911 first and told me that, and I had to call them again to make sure. I...

    Crashed this morning

We both called 911 to report the incident, and at the time I thought I was uninjured. The adrenaline wasn't allowing any of the pain to come through. On the ride back I started to feel the pain. That's why the police wouldn't come. I also had a hard time getting a police report when I went to...

    Crashed this morning

Headed to work at 9am this morning. I turn left (North) onto Centinela Ave from Venice Blvd. Guy in a blue Mazda 3 turns right (North) out of a parking lot on the right side of Centinela Ave and goes in the far right lane. I'm in the left lane. He decides to pull a U-turn right in front of me...

    SoCal riders 8-23-08 Big Bear

Sorry I didn't make it guys. 6:30am came really quick and I wasn't feeling so hot. Felt hung-over without any drinking last night, and I definitely didn't want to have a long day riding feeling like that. Hope you have a great time and stay safe!

    Get your frame sliders NOW!

I bought my sliders months ago, but they came with bolts that weren't long enough. This thread convinced me to get off my lazy ass and get longer bolts, finally. The sliders will be on after work today!

    Ride Night 8/21/08

Shoot that's (basically) down the street from me. We'll see how late work and the workout keep me.

    Crackdown on Angeles Crest Hwy.

For sure. I always seem to take it easier riding in groups, as I'd hate for my actions to affect someone else. It's when I'm by myself or with 1 other person that I push it to my limit.

    Bigger crotch rockets

I'm about the same size as your friend and still look like a giant on an R1. My good friend has an interceptor (he's a bigger guy than me) and it actually fits him. They are great bikes :) Good thing I don't care how I look on a bike, since I've had people say "I thought I saw your motorcycle...

    Cortech Saddlebags

I've got the full set (tail bag, side bags, and tank bag) and use the tail bag daily for my work laptop + change of shoes + lunch + whatever else I need for the day. Works great... quality is nice and I haven't had any issues. Using the whole set is perfect for a long weekend (3-4 days).

    License plate laws

That's for sure a fix-it ticket in SoCal. I'd at least bend it down some so you can see part of the numbers.

When was the last time you checked your brake and run lights?

Vegas - I noticed a few of yours were out on our SoCal ride last month :) I check every day in the mornings while I put my gear on. Turn on bike, put gear on while doing a quick check, then i'm off!

Did a dumb thing today...well, two dumb things.

Did that a few weeks ago in an emergency situation. I was trying to honk to let the driver know that HE WAS DRIVING LIKE A DUMBA$$ and instead just heard a bad bad noise. Realized what was going on and got even more pissed :)

    Tail Bag question

I'm a lot taller (6'4") and can just bend my leg and slip it in front of the tail bag. Might work for you too!
