The FZ6 was signifigantly cheaper. Seems the top speeds are almost the same between the two and I commute with the FZ so gas was a concern.

Well, maybe I dont need one. I live in Florida and ride the bike to work. It sits outside in the hot FL sun and I dont think this is too good for the seat and some of the other components. Is there anyone who has ever had a problem parking the bike outside in the summer all day every day?

Does anyone use a cover on their bike when parked outside? I'm looking for a cover but really dont know where to start. Suggestions please......

Well, they extended the warranty, I have the invoice for the repairs and all is well. The question was whether to get it serviced there or not for its "first" service.

Would the majority here suggest I bring the bike in for its "first" service after the problems I have encountered?? I have put on almost 600 miles since I got er back.....Please advise.... And...by the way...warranty extended till January '09 for the troubles!!

Oil is Yamalube 10w-30 and a yamaha filter. Also. on the that topic, my brother-in-law works for the AMA so I asked him to ask some of the mechanics what oil they use for general purpose. He said they told him "High end Japenese oils". Not exactly sure what that means specifically nor do I want...

Thank You..Everyone...this is exacly the main reason this forum is is A+. I have been gaining confidence and had her up to around 7K momentarily on my commute to work this morning. On the way home...I may work her a little more. Everyone is right, the machine was built to run not to be babied...

For those who dont know I have had quite an experience with the FZ6. Since friday, when I got the bike back, I have been afraid to go over 4000-5000 RPM. I have a fear that something will happen to the bike or like I'm abusing it if I rev any higher. I guess I need to gain my confidence back...

On that topic, the service manager suggested I call back the customer relations and tell them I would like to have the warranty extended. He said to have them call him if they had any problems with it.
