I can only tell you what I would do. I would replace the 530 rivet link with the same brand of 530 rivet link as the chain... purely for my own peace of mind.

Siiiiigggggghhhh!!!! 11c(about 53f) outside today in the Vancouver area but no insurance on the FZ6.(Had a foot of snow on Jan 12th..now melted) Will have to live the dream through your pics. Hopefully March will come quickly. Thanks for the pics.

To increase performance, I will buy a different bike that equates to the performance I am looking for. The FZ6 offers the performance I was looking for at the time I purchased it. Just my .02.

I apply Meguiars Vinyl and Rubber Conditioner occassionally. on my sidewalls, lightly, with a rag....and then I let it dry before I ride. Do not get it on the tire surface though as it will not be your friend in the twisties.

With only one light shining at the backend of our FZ6's, its tempting to setup daytime running lights on the back signals...not sure if its legal, but can't see why not. It's a bit freaky coming home in the dark only to realize your taillight is burned out. Its happened to me twice and I check...

Great thread on changing the coolant! The soap pump worked great...even rinsed the reservoir tank out using this method. Too cold to ride today, so decided to do a little maintenance.:thumbup:

Sound advice from OMG_WTF and no1partsguy. For what its worth, my mechanic told me that our FZ6's charging system doesnt charge the battery unless the bike is ridden at 5000 rpm and higher. If your riding at very low rpm's, (less than 5000rpm) you may be draining the battery on your short rides...

Further to sxty8goats comments, I changed my original air cleaner at 33000 kms...wasn't even that dirty. If I ride my bike for 100000 kms, I will only change my air cleaner 2 or 3 times at the most.
