Can get nasty like that down here too. In those circumstances, it's 50/50 as to whether I'll ride. I guess it depends how badly I want to ride. I do, however, make sure in those conditions I ride in areas where I have lots of places to pull off, preferably decent restaurants. It's kinda nice...

Bill, My condelences to you and his family. I think it's very cool that he would want you to have his FZ6, and hopefully it will give you as much enjoyment as it gave him. But you are right, that's a sucky way to get something. Welcome aboard, enjoy the bike, and be careful!

Many of the other riders here are much more experienced than me and will probably give you more intelligent answer, but here's my 2-cents: 1. You legs are right next to an exposed engine. Heat is normal. It won't be enough to hurt you at all, unless you're putting your ankle actually...

Sorry to hear that. :( Not sure how the "Learner Permits" and Motorcycle Safety Courses work out there, but are you going to be able to get more practice and give it another shot? If so, good luck!

Though the cops were sure the kid was street racing, they couldn't prove it. They cited him for Wreckless Driving and Improper Use Of A Learner's Permit. Not sure what that meant for the kid as far a driving privilages. For me, it meant a $103,000 bill after EMT's, helo ride, trauma center...
