some folks misunderstood, that's all. if you downshift too early, and release the clutch in 1st, while still rolling, say above 20mph or so, it will cause the back end to slide/skid. engine braking is awesome on the fz6. whatever you do, don't test the theory on a wet road, it will bite you...

i know video always looks slower, and this is by no means a bash or ridicule- but is the 100+ kmph or mph ? either way is freak-like fast, and what a view ! rock on. :-)

the only protection those provide is a very very little bit of abrasion resistance. please, consider a full on motorcycle boot. those are worthless above walking speed.

i may be doing it wrong, but: sidestand, neutral, scale agaist the swingarm, then pull the chain up/down and measure. then roll the bike 1 foot back, repeat x3. gives a good idea where the chain is tightest/loosest. i adjust for 1 3/4" slack.

i've seen this working, and it prevented a mercedes suv driver from crossing into my lane. the time it happened was on a two lane bridge, 60-80 feet above the lower road. it literally prevented an accident, likely with heavy injuries or deaths. would a driver who was actually paying...
