Selling my 2007 FZ6. Austin, TX

Heh, I haven't been an active member lately. I don't think I've logged onto this forum for months. I love this bike, but I rarely take it out these days. The last serious trip was over a year ago. These days I'm focusing on getting my pilot's license, and the poor FZ6 sits neglected in the...

Selling my 2007 FZ6. Austin, TX

FOR SALE: 2007 FZ-6. Modified and ready to tour! $6500 Austin, TX Frederic Scott (512) 773 8978 I am the sole owner of the bike. Since I bought it in January of 2008, I have not even put 9000 miles on the bike. This bike is clearly wasted on me, and so it's time to find a home where...

    R6 Conversion 07+ Dogbone Drawings

They were designed by forum user Ryank. If you search for his posts, you may find it. That's assuming that he posted plans. Fred

Time Traveller Caught on 1928 Charlie Chaplin Film

I don't know which is more impressive, the fact that they sent a person back in time, the fact that they sent a cell tower back in time, or the fact that they actually got an Iphone 4 to not drop a call when held like that. Fred

wrong in so many ways, parents need a good slap

To be fair, when you live in a grass hut in a peasant village, your life expectancy is a lot shorter than the First World average. Disease, famine, or a random tiger will probably get him before cancer does. Fred

Not sure what to make of this

It looks like he just unbolted the easiest to remove parts and spray painted them primary colors. Oh wait, THAT IS what he did!

    Keepin' Austin Weird

I've seen that dude around town. You learn to not look, especially from the front.

Blowout! - should I contact the manufacturer?

Not necessarily. I used to get 10,000 miles out of the Dunlop 491's on my K-75RT. And no, that's not a typo. Ten Thousand Miles. YMMV. Fred

What can you say you have done....

Scuba dived with sharks. <----- Inflated my face. Scuba dived in the world's deepest blue hole, then climbed the cliff above it and jumped off. Dean's Blue Hole on Long Island, The Bahamas Soloed in a sailplane over Driggs, Idaho. Got swept out to sea by a riptide and had to be saved by two...

To the citizens of the United States of America

I would just like to point out that Americans do speak proper English, at least moreso than the British do. It's you Brits that have deliberately altered your pronunciation over the last several hundred years. Nick Patrick - Did Americans in 1776 have British accents? In other words, you talk...

California Law 'Muffles' Motorcycles in 2013

It's not the same argument at all. Your tattoo doesn't intrude into the peace and quiet of my home. Your tattoo doesn't wake me up on a Sunday morning when I'm trying to sleep in. Your tattoo doesn't cause hearing damage. Your tattoo doesn't make me want to fill your exhaust pipe...

    Look what I found!

You can take a tire from new to showing cords in one week if you ride enough, or have enough weight on the back of the bike. To me, that just looks like you wore out your tire. How many miles were on the tire before you took the screw? It looks like it was already worn down quite a bit in...

    Insane Honda VTR

I agree. Also it will be horrible in turns, completely uncontrollable when rolling on the throttle in sweepers, and will suffer from nightmarish wheelspins on straightaways. In addition to all of that, I should point out that I don't care. I would absolutely LOVE to ride that beast. Some...

Front fork mods - PITA factor vs payoff

I did the R6 fork mod, first to Hellgate's bike, then I bought all the bits from him and put them on my bike. I thought it was very easy, especially with RyanK's fender mounts to get the fender installed easily. Before those came along, we ghetto rigged some brackets that were pretty ugly...

    Austin Anyone?

I'm another Autininite. I don't have a whole lot of time for riding lately. I'm too busy with flying. But on Sunday afternoons I can often be found at LoveJoy's having cold one and watching MotoGP on the big screen. Fred

close your gas cap without the key...for free of course

The short answer is because it's really annoying the way it is. There's no reason that the cap should not close and lock without the key. Are they worried about you accidentally locking your key inside the gas tank? Fred P.S. Having said that, it will now happen to me.

How to install a 12v Cig lighter socket + mounting solutions??

All of the above advice is good, so I'll only add that when you get your fuse holder, get one for the mini fuses. Since the FZ6 uses mini fuses elsewhere, you don't have to carry two types of spare fuses. Fred
