    Upper Fairing

Do any of you FZ6 gurus know whether or not an 04 or 05 upper fairing will bolt directly onto an 06 FZ6? Tried asking ronayers.com but they suggested asking in the FZ6 forum. Any feedback is much appreciated.

    Seat recommendations

If you are looking for that"Aaaaah cumfy couch feeling" out of an aftermarket seat, you'll be sadly disappointed. A corbin seat will let your butt get sore only to somewhat tolerable point that will allow you to ride semi uncomfortably for long periods of time. A stock seat will allow you to...

Bi-Xenon projector with angel eye installed

Wow!! This is a great thread!! I was about to order the plug and play HIDs (you know, the almost illegal ones) but thought I would do a search on here first. Thanks everyone! I will get projector HIDs instead. One question tho...has anyone installed projector HIDs with the LED Angel Eyes? Any...

    Need Opinions on Buell Blast

I would also suggest considering the Ninja 500r. Much like the gs500 with a little more hp and water-cooled too. Pretty good on moderately longer road trips. My daughter had one and loved it.(& she had no problem keeping up with the rest of the pack). bullet proof motor and cheap to maintain...

Is the FZ6 the best bike you have owned, ridden???

So far, the Fz6 is the best bike I've ever owned. My favourite thing about it is its reliability. Other than regular maintenance, I just start it and ride it...unlike my old Norton 850 which I would ride for an hour and fix for an hour. Most of the newer bikes are very reliable nowadays, but I...

Great Buy on Clutch & Brake levers

I just ordered a set for myself in longs. I'll see for myself if they are any good. (I will keep the stockers just incase, though). If you request it, you can order a different colour adjuster on your levers eg: black adjuster with black levers or red adjuster on silver levers. I believe...

    Helmet Lock

Sorry for your loss of a good helmet, but yes, a helmet lock will only mitigate the risk of losing your helmet to a spontaneous thief. (One without a knife to cut the helmet free from the helmet lock). Sadly, an organized thief will just take the whole bike.

    Helmet Lock

Thanks....I'm away for work so can't take a pic of mine.:( My helmet lock is a similar style to the one pictured in the cyclegear link. Mine is chrome, says HD on it (stands for Yamaha in some unknown language, I think)and appears to be better quality. Works like a charm!fwiw

    Helmet Lock

Yup, that's right. I had to put an aftermarket one on my 06.(My Ninja had one and I really missed it). They're about $45 or so for a universal one.

    fz6 2009 smells funky

Could be road debris being flung off the front tire and onto your header pipe...especially underneath the engine. Pine needles smell quite nice when burning off the header pipe, but when I followed a manure spreader ....well you get my point!

    Simple Mods

Its fun and addicting, isn't it. Ordered HEL brake lines yesterday...( & waiting impatiently). In the meantime, I'm gonna install new sprockets and gold RK chain that just arrived....happy modding!!

    Suggestions about Boots?

I use my bike to go to job sites that require steel-toed boots.... so I use them as my riding boots also. Most motorcycle boots are not steel-toed (not to my knowledge, anyway) so don't meet job-site safety standards. I use them for practical work purposes only. If I didn't need safety boots...

    2004 FZ6 - should I stay away?

I agree with Greg. Also an aftermarket seat would be a good idea before going on a 4000 mile ride...otherwise your son will suffer from a bad case of soreassitis:( (I know one thing...when his riding skills develop to the level of yours, you'll have a hard time leaving him in the dust, no...
